Ash's POV.

'I have to get out of here.' I thought as I slid down the makeshift rope I had made from scraps of cloth. It was a miracle no one awoke to the clip-clop of my horse's hooves as I took him out of his stall.

I hurriedly got out some extra cloth and wrapped his hooves in them. I did this so he did not make a sound. But as I rode him out of the castle walls one slipped out and then another soon followed until you could faintly hear the clip-clop again, but thankfully only I could hear it as two were still covered.

I slept many nights under the stars, in a hollow stump, or in a cave.

I had decided to parade around as a boy so I cut my gold/blonde hair to my ears, bound my chest and put on one of the training outfits I had stolen from my old home, the palace. I then put my daggers back in their hidden sleeves and put my sword back in it's sheath, fastening it tightly around my waist. I then got back on my horse Moonsage.

I rode off towards a town, I found an in to stay at for a night or two. I got down and handed my reigns to the barn boy and jogged up to the door.

As soon as I opened it the sound of laughter hit me like a wave. I scurried across the room to the counter and asked for a room. The man nodded and waved his hand for me to follow him as he left the room. I happily obliged and we went up a flight of stairs and down a hall to a door. He unlocked it and gave me the keys as I thanked him and walked in closing the door behind me.

It was nothing grand just a bed, a trunk, a wardrobe, a curtain in the corner with a tub full of scalding hot water for bathing, and a balcony. After washing I put on a new outfit and went onto the balcony.
