I am leaving. I can't believe I am ACTUALLY leaving. It is 3 in the middle of the night and I am running away, Ivy thought. As the thought of her truly leaving seeped into her mind her heart began to race. She stopped packing her backpack for a second and took a deep breath.
She looked down and looked at her luggage. She had packed her hairbrush, toothbrush, hair ties and toothpaste. She also had all of her clothes in little outfit balls. She had seen a tutorial on YouTube for an emergency outfit ball. She made several outfits for herself out of all of her clothing. Ivy had a bag of money that she had saved up from chores, after all she would need money for food and bus tickets. She knew one day she would run out of money, but she hoped by then a knew family would have adopted her. She had her phone and portable charger. Ivy also had a few other things, like snacks, water bottles, a stuffed bear and her only thing she had left from her parents. Her dads baseball cap.
When Ivy was 4 her parents died in a fire, so she and her older sister where put in an orphanage. Katie,  8 at the time is now 16 and Ivy is 12.
The orphanage is girls only. The name is Dayton Orphanage for girls. Extremely simple. Its an orphanage. Its in Dayton. And its for girls. Nothing too it. Its a great place, the chaperons are nice and the other girls are too.
The reason Ivy is leaving is because she doesn't want to stay there her whole life. She has seen people come and go. People have come to meet her and see if they want to adopt her but it is the same thing every time. They come in, Ivy is called downstairs and then it happens. They look into her eyes with happy smiling faces and their expression changes. They leave and act as though they had seen a ghost. Ivy isn't sure why it happens but it does. So she wants to leave. Too explore. Too find someone who loves her and she loves the same.
Ivy put on her gray sweater and put her phone in her pocket. She looked down at her watch. It read 3:07. She quietly put on her yellow backpack and crept to her doorway.
She had to be careful not to wake the girls in her corridor. In each corridor there are six girls. Across from her where 3 girls named, Lela, Bailey, and Opal. She didn't have to worry about them because they where heavy sleepers. However on her right was her sister who she couldn't wake otherwise she would upset her, and the last thing she wanted was to make Katie cry. Then on her left, was an annoying tattletale name Daisy.
Daisy thought she was everything and that she ruled the place. Daisy is 13 and came to the home 2 years after Ivy and Katie had come. Daisy and Ivy had practically grown up together, but she still hated her.
Ivy quietly opened her door as slow as she could. She crept out of her room and silently shut her door behind her. She look to her left. Good. Then to the right. "You too?" Ivy asked. "Yeah."
Katie and Ivy lingered down the hall, clutching there backpack straps as they did. Suddenly, Daisy's door opened. In a whisper voice she said,"Quiet down. Don't you people know I need my beauty sleep." After she rubbed the crusties from her eyes Daisy's eyes widened when she saw the sisters with there backpacks. Katie stared at her and she muttered, "Do not say a word". Daisy looked shocked, nodded her head and closed her door. With that, Katie and Ivy walked down the hallway and left.
