{Note: The story is now from Ivy's P.O.V.}
I tried not to snort at Daisy's shocked face. She shut her door as Katie and I snuck down to the first floor. We tried to be extremely quiet since we didn't want to wake any of the girls or chaperons. We walked down the spiral stair case. Finally, Katie and I successfully made it out of the orphanage. I checked my watch again. 3:13.
I glanced at Katie. "What should we do first?" She kept her eyes straight ahead. "Im not sure," she replied. "You tired?"
I pondered this question for a little while. "I don't think so. Food wouldn't be bad." I adjusted my backpack a little. "Sounds good to me. We should go before Daisy tells the chaperons." Katie walked forward. "We will find somewhere to eat, c'mon," She explained. She looked back and smiled at me. She can tell I look scared. I took a deep breathe and we both began to walk forward.
I heard the sound of cars going down the highway and horns honking. The cold night air blew through my hair. My favorite thing about summer. The long hot days partnered with the short cold nights. I glanced at my watch again. 3:17. The wind blew again, a little softer this time but still enough to bristle my hair against my cheeks.
I have light brown hair with a short bob hair style. I have no freckles and my skin is a light tannish color. I am medium height, 4'11. I feel like I have a normal body shape for a 12 year old too. I am not super skinny, but I am not chubby either. Right in the middle.
We got to the end of the street and Katie stopped. "There is a dive down the street. We could get a burger and then go from there," She suggested. I nodded. Anything sounded good to me right now. Katie took a left and I followed her. "Are you sure its open at...3:21 AM?" I asked her. She wasn't hesitant to answer. "Yeah. Its open 24/7."
Before I knew it we were there. It wasn't that long of a walk, only about 5 minutes long. Katie pushed the doors open and I walked in behind her.
The dive wasn't that busy (Considering it was 3:26 in the morning). Actually, it wasn't busy at all, IT WAS 3:26 IN THE MORNING.
I followed Katie to the bar area. She sat on a stool and hung her backpack off the back of it. I did the same and looked over at her. She looked back at me."What do you want?" Katie asked me. I just shrugged and looked forward.
It was pretty warm and the color theme consisted of red, brown and yellow. It smelled kinda funky but it didn't smell awful. The guy working walked over to us. He looked like he was in the middle of his twenties. He was wearing a plaid shirt and black jeans. He was bald and I could tell he was sweating.
"What are you girls doing here so late?" He asked us. Oh no. He's going find out and send us back to the orphanage. "We couldn't sleep and went for a walk," Katie said cooley.
Oh my god. She just did that. She just LIED TO THIS DUDE AND SHE IS CALM ABOUT IT."By this girls face, no you didn't but I don't care cuz your giving me money," he chuckled. I stiffened up in my seat and my eyes widened. Katie laughed too and glanced over at me. She ordered us each burgers and fries. "Where did you get all the money?" I asked her. "Chores."
"Oh."
We finished eating then left the dive. I looked at my watch again and it read 4:01. It had only been one hour but it felt like so long since we had been gone from the orphanage.
"Im tired," I yawned. I could tell Katie got an idea because she made a little smirk.
"Want to do something insane?"
"Um...not really," I said.
"C'mon! We already ran away!"
"Okay...I guess."
"Great! So, do you remember Greys anatomy?"
"Um barely," I replied.
"Okay anyway, there are on-call rooms
that we can sleep in!"
"Is that allowed?"
"Nope!" Katie exclaimed excitedly. We made our way to the hospital which was about two blocks away. Katie and I snuck in. We found the on-call room and I tried opening the door handle but behind us I heard. "What do you think your doing?"
