"FZZT"
Hayley hesitantly walked inside the lab of the bus. She hadn't faced Fitz nor Simmons since her little revelation on Hong Kong and knew she couldn't hide anymore.
She saw the scientists working on apparently the 'Night Night' gun and took a deep breath walking toward them
Simmons was the first who noticed her and smiled slightly, nudging Fitz who startled turned around, dropping something to the floor
Hayley quickly noticed it was glass and bit her lip hard, watching how the glass stopped mid air as if hanging from a rope
Fitz had cringed waiting for the breaking glass only for his eyes widening as the glass raised up and headed to his hands
Hayley sheepishly crossed her arms "So... You can ask away" she murmured not looking at them "I know you are literally biting your tongues from asking so go ahead. I can't hide forever from my co-friends"
Neither Simmons or Fitz said anything making Hayley furrow her eyebrows and look up, only to find the scientists' smiling faces
"You're our friend, too" Simmons said gently, walking to her and placing her hand on Hayley's shoulder
"Yeah. Who else would handle our talks?" Fitz asked smiling, walking closer
"Yeah" Simmons agreed
Hayley couldn't help but smile wider, looking down
It didn't take a second of peace before the questioning started
"Is it some kind of telekinetic force?"
"Do you think hard to make the objects moving?"
"Is it genetic?"
Is there something on your DNA that can tell..."
"Whoa, guys!" Hayley raised her arms up, eyes wide seemingly overwhelmed when in reality was the contrary "One thing at a time. And no, Simmons. Not needles near my arm. Not yet anyway" she pointed at the brit scientist, narrowing her eyes. Simmons closed her mouth shut "For much I would love to explain, I don't even know myself how I can do this" she lied smoothly, biting her lip
She may be comfortable now talking freely about her abilities but she wasn't ready to talk about how she got them
"But I can explain how it works for me," she added quickly seeing their downfall expressions. Damn her, trying to keep her cheery friends the same way.
Simmons clapped once, smiling triumphantly
Fitz raised his fist, smiling
Hayley rolled her eyes raising her arm toward the devices they were working with about the 'Night Night' gun. The electronics and gadgets started levitating to the air, floating even after she dropped her arm
"I have three ways on how this thin-"
"Telekinetic force" Fitz corrected making her roll her eyes
"-Telekinetic force" Hayley repeated, pulling a face. "Works. First I can imagine a rope or a string pulling up the object, that way I can keep them in the air even after putting my hands away. That's actually the second. I use my hands or just look at the object"
The three of them looked at the floating objects
"And the third?" Fitz asked, excitement and expectation on his voice making Hayley smile
It was nice to know they didn't turn their backs on her for being different like others in the Agency would have done in a blink of an eye
"I like to say I focus on the particles around the objects and how much they weight to see how much force to use" Hayley explained watching the interest bubbling on the scientists eyes
