In the Line of Fire

Chapter Two.!

I woke up to Marq on top of me, with his  head pressed into me. I looked at the clock 5:45. I tried pushing him off, but he was like a dead weight. "Get up Marq, we gonna be late for school." I say in his ear, when I think of something. "You could be hurting the baby." He jumped up so quick, I bounced up a little.

"I'll get your clothes out just go to the bathroom bae." He said, fixing his dreads. I got up, and kissed him on the neck before going to my bathroom.  Dimming the lights, I stepped into the shower. A few minutes later I hear the door open, and a naked Marq steps in. "I am already done. " I smile looking up at him. "Well, maybe later." He smacked me on the butt, and took his shower.

Soon, we were headed to school. As soon as I stepped on the parking, my best friend Anthony came and kissed me on the cheek. I felt Marq tense up, and I smiled at him. "Hey hun." "Hey!" I responded, grabbing his hand. No sooner did I get it, when Marq pulled me back. His eyes darkened a little, and I tried pulling away. "Let me go Marq,"I said yanking away, dragging Ant behind. "Stop overreacting. "

The day seemed to go by fast, and before I knew it I was at lunch. Marquis would be late because he was finishing up a test, so I sat down beside Stacey. A few more of our friends came over, when they got quiet. Looking behind me, I saw Daniel and a group of his friends, walk over.

"Move." That one word made everyone leave the table, even Stacey. "So I heard you going with Marquis. " he started off, pulling me in front of him. "You know I am not going to let that happen, right? No matter how hard you try to fight it Ash, we were made for each other. And no punk ass human is going to take you from me." Danny, Stacey, most of the school were werewolves, vampires,  anthing you name it. Danny was alpha of the BlueBlood wolves, and it so happens I am his mate.

"What exactly are you saying?" My heart was jumping in my chest. "Break up with him or I will for you." He then kissed me fully on the lips, and I couldn't stop myself from kissing back. His guards surrounded us, and I felt the skin on my neck heat up. I pulled back, "No, this isnt right. I dont want/need you Danny, I am in love with Marquis. " The slap came outta nowhere.

  "How dare you say, you are in love with another man!" His Alpha voice, caused me to shudder, and his guards flinched a little. "I'm pregnant." I whispered, but knowing almost all those with superhearing heard it. The silence was deafening. "What?" His eyes became a dark black, and I felt everyone tense up as Marquis came in.

"Please dont hurt him Daniel, I'm sorry. I-i will break up with him. " Tears were falling out my eyes, as I turned towards Marq. "Ash, why everyone staring at us?"he asked, touching my cheek. I heard Danny growl. "We have to break up. I don't love you." I told him, glaring at Marq.

"What?" He looked so hurt, I felt like I was gonna break down. "You heard me. I dont want you, you make me sick! " I screamed, pushing him. " Me and Danny are back together. I dont want some pathetic excuse of a man with me." I then kissed Danny on the lips. " Fine, but you can't stop me from being in my child life, bitch." He glared at me, and walked away. The rest of the day went by in a blur.

"Ashari, get your fucking ass down here!" My brother yelled. 'What have I done this time?' I think slowly getting up. "What is Marq talking about? You broke up with him for Danny.?" Marquis sat on the couch beside my brother, anger and pain crossing his face.

"Yea, I never loved him." Ouch, the look that registered on my brother's face, had me shrinking in the couch. "Don't you look at me like I grew two heads, Tony! You didnt do this when I broke up with other guys." I said sitting down huffing. Taking a look at Marq, I noticed he had puffy eyes and it looked as though he was crying all night. Oh well, I cant risk for him to get hurt by Daniel, I think.

"He is the father of your baby, your carrying! Yet, you are leaving him for someone who beats on you? " he shouts at me, his vein bulging out his neck. Tears slide down my face, and my facade falls.

"You know why I had to do this, Antonio. I'm doing what's best for everyone." My head snapped to the side, and a stinging sensation fills the right side of my face. Marquis slapped me, and was standing in front of me with his fists clenched...
