Chapter 4: My Two Bestfriends

As I approached closer, I saw her talking to someone. It was a guy... And someone I know. Wow! Really? She was talking to Alex.

Now, Alex is a tall and fit guy. The kind of guy who is filthy rich. Owns his own Harley Davidson and also a Duster. However, he was a playboy kinda guy, he also smokes, drinks and is involved in all kinds of late night fights.

And the one thing which is certain is that no girl with whom he is seen is "just a friend". This got me pretty mad and I left.

I saw them always sitting and talking alone. But, the only odd thing was that she would always keep staring at me. She spoke to him but with her gaze on me. Eventually, I spent the whole trip all by myself.

While we were on our way back, I leaned my head on the seat in front of me and went to sleep. On seeing me sitting all alone, a random guy from my class whom I don't even recognize comes up and sits beside me. He notices that I had been crying the whole time, with my hand hiding my face. He asks me what happened but I wipe away the tears and introduce myself, ignoring the question. He tells me he is new to the college and that his name was Cray.

Cray was short, but confident when he spoke. He was a competitive guy, with brains and muscle. As time passed by we got to know each other.

Now, there were only two people whom I cared about. One was Cray, the new guy; and the other was Haley. Haley has been my best friend since I was 4. At first she was just a nerd, but later as she joined college she got a complete makeover. Now, she was a beauty. All the guys in our college would kill for her. But, she would rather prefer hanging out with me.

I still remember like it was yesterday. Cray offered me a treat in a nearby cafe and I agreed. As we sat to eat, he seemed kind of tense. I asked him what was the problem. He replied, "Oh! It's just that I'm in love with Haley."

He told that all day he would only think about her and his nights would be sleepless. This felt completely like my story. So, I agreed to help him out.

I went to meet Haley and told her about Cray and all that he had said. She was shocked that I told her all this, knowing she was dating Ted.

Ted is her boyfriend, who is not that good looking. He was literally a nobody. I always wondered why she was with a loser like him, but never asked her about it. But this was it now. This was a matter of love that too of someone who was going through the same thing as me.

I asked her why she was dating a nobody like Ted? Why him? She told it was something which no one could ever do. When I pestered her for quite a while she agreed to tell me her love story.
