Chapter 1

'Should I walk home with you? I can understand if you don't want to be alone now.' I look at Emily, my only friend in this entire world. She looks at me concerned, she's always concerned. But how can I blame her? How would you look at your friend if she was the biggest loser of the school.

'Alright, I'll see you tomorrow Dani.' She smiles at me and walks away. To her other friends. Emily has friends, she's not extremely popular, but she doesn't mind. But me, girls don't like me because they think I'm weird.. and a slut. I'm not, not at all, I can't help that the boys only like me for my ass. Every girl wants to be popular, but I don't like it at all. It's not funny when guys are whistling at you all the time, but don't make an effort to get to know you.

I continue walking, away from that stupid school. Back to my stupid family. I guess I'll just lock myself up in my room and listen to music, just like I always do. Behind me there are voices. That's a sign for me to hide in the first alley I can find. Those voices are from bad people, guys who like harassing girls, including me. That's why Emily was concerned.

I was just standing in the hallway, putting stuff back in my locker when they saw me. Daniel, Mike and Mo. They pushed me against the lockers and..well they did things. They said things that scared me. And now they are only a few meters away from me. I walk backwards, slowly, hoping they won't see me. The pass the alley without noticing me. I sign and lean against the wall. 'Thank God, that was close.' I whisper before leaving the alley, looking around me carefully.

I decide to run the last part of my way home. It's only two blocks away and not much later I stop at my front door. I get the key out of my pocket and open it. 'Hello?' I call out and wait for answer. Nobody. Apparently there's nobody home. My little brother Jaymé , must be in school.

I walk to the kitchen and open the fridge. I get out some Ice Tea and get myself a glass. I drink it, sitting on the counter. Do I have any homework? No, I finished it in class. Good, then I can read.

I love reading, everything with letters in it is good for me. I'm currently reading Harry Potter. For the 10th time, I think. But I just love it.

I spend the rest of the day reading and imagining about how it would be to live in Hogwarts. It must be awesome. Whenever someone is mean to you, you can just transform them into a snail, or a frog.

I get my unused phone out of my pocket. The only texts I ever get are from Emily, Jaymé and my mum. This time there are no new messages. I scroll though my twitter. I reckon I have some friends in the internet. There I write stories, imagines. People enjoy reading them. I hear the front door open, that should be my mum. 'Dani?' Yes, that's my mum. 'Come and help me!' I sign and get out of my comfortable position on my bed.

'Coming.' I always try to stay nice to her, than she's nice to me too. But usually she's a bitch. 'Where's your brother?' I walk downstairs, shrugging. 'I don't know.'

'Put this in the fridge.' She hands me some food and a bottle of Coke. I don't even bother looking at the rest of the food. I place it in the fridge and return to the hall. 'Anything else?' My mum shakes her head. 'No.' With that I run upstairs back to my room.

It's 10 PM when I look at my watch. Let's get to sleep, I think to myself. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth quickly, then I change into my pjs and lie down in my bed. It doesn't take me long to fall asleep, dreams flashing through my mind.

The next morning I wake up by the sound of my alarm. 7 AM. I always try to wake up early, so I can get used to being awake. I'm not really a morning person, that's why I try to avoid my family in the morning. I go to the bathroom and jump into the shower. I decide not to make it too long. I want to have breakfast before my mum comes downstairs. After 5 minutes I get out and go back to my room. There I look in my wardrobe. I get out some blue shorts and a white top. I quickly apply some make up and brush my hair before I go downstairs. My brother's sitting at the table, on his phone. 'Morning.' He looks up from his phone and smiles at me. 'Hi.'
