Kay's best friends were present at the funeral. Everyone was chatting, some were crying and a few were trying to comfort the heartbroken ones. Sonia slowly made way to the common room and noticed Leanne and Lili by the front door. She tried to be friendly but somehow got ignored.
"Mum, I think that's Sonia! The girl who was standing by the coffin earlier", said Brenda out loud.
Kay's family hurried over that exact moment as they were still in shocked to see Sonia invited herself to the funeral.
"What do you think you are doing? Who do you think you are? How dare you come to my daughter's funeral when you did her wrong?"
Families and friends were starting to whisper and stare. Lili quickly rushed over to make peace but Sonia could not stop crying and apologised repeatedly "I didn't mean to, I am sorry. I just wanted to see Kay one last time. Please don't do this, just let me see her."
"No! You played her! You did not deserve such a beautiful soul. You are not welcome here. We do not want you here."
"Please don't do this to me! I know I was wrong. Please understand that I loved her too but it was a terrible mistake", cried Sonia.
"It's not Sonia's fault things became sour! Please stop blaming my sister! It's unfair! They just were not working it out", shouted Lili.
Kay's family walked away without saying a word. Sonia managed to say goodbye and spend a bit more time with Kay before the funeral had ended.
Days slowly went by but Sonia would not stop thinking about the stupid mistake that had caused Kay's life. It did not have to happen and she did not mean for it to happen. All the words that Kay had written to her kept playing in her head. "Don't miss me when I'm gone." She was devastated. "You can leave and I'll remember you." She felt like she was going insane.

4 years had passed and Sonia just turned 21. No celebrations, no parties, nothing. It was a different kind of birthday. She decided to celebrate by going to a gig just a few blocks away from her apartment. Just 2 days ago she was handed a flyer with a few words scribbled on it that said "The 1989 Live at The High Drive Pub, 1 June 2012. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets at $10."
It was 5pm, she was starving but there was nothing in the fridge. She rushed out to get a pack of cigarettes, 2 litre bottle of Coke and a pack of instant ramen. Dinner was done in 10 minutes. Half a pack of cigarettes smoked. Butts all over the floor. She got dressed and left.
Sonia arrived 10 minutes before the show at The High Drive Pub. The room was filled with cigarette smokes and the smell of different kinds of draft beer. She managed to squeeze in, got herself a Bacon Maple Ale for $3 which was usually $5 and finished it in 5 minutes. She bought a bottle of Corona just after the frontman of the band came up and introduced himself as Ratty aka Noodle Boi with an I, the drummer as G, the bassist as Micky D and the guitarist as Aiden.
The crowd cheered as they began to play a slow song called "Someone Else" that Sonia thought she had heard of the same night she found out Kay killed herself. The crowd knew every word, cheered and whistled. Sonia was in deep thoughts again. All the memories with Kay started playing in her mind and she was sobbing. The band continued to play a few more songs and everyone was dancing. One boy came up to Sonia and invited her to join the crowd but she somehow refused. She sat there all night and soon realized the gig was over. It was 11.30pm. The crowd dispersed, everyone was rushing out the door.
She stayed and bought another beer because she did not want to go home just yet. She was joined by 2 boys who introduced themselves as G and Noodle Boi.
"Hey, the show is over now. Are you leaving soon?", asked Noodle Boi.
"Not just yet. I would like to stay a little longer. Is there a problem?", said Sonia, who was a bit annoyed by now.
G quickly apologized by saying "No, no of course not. Sorry, we did not mean it that way. Hope you aren't offended."
"Thanks, I'm fine. The show was great. Where are you from? Your accent is different", asked Sonia.
Before G could respond, Noodle Boi interrupted by asking "Are you sure? We saw you from the stage, you did not look fine at all. You did not seem to be enjoying the show."
Micky D and Aiden joined the 3 of them and insisted they should talk somewhere else as the pub was going to close the doors. The 4 four boys carried their instruments, loaded them in the black van outside and invited Sonia to go for a ride.
She agreed, lit her cigarette and got in the back of the van with Noodle Boi. He was asking her all sorts of question but she did not reply at all. She thought Noodle Boi was a bit strange but in a good way. He was cute, with long hair and shaved sides, holding a bottle of wine on one hand and a cigarette on the other.
Sonia would not stop smiling every time Noodle Boi asked her a question.
"Why are you smiling? Answer my question", asked Noodle Boi.
"Nothing, I just think you are strange but in a cute way", said Sonia.
Noodle Boi was excited. "What do you mean by strange?", he laughed and asked.
Sonia turned away saying "I don't know."
He tried to lean over and pull her face to make sure she was looking at him. He tried to go in for a kiss. First he kissed her cheeks and slowly on her lips. Sonia did not respond but Noodle Boi did not stop. For about 5 seconds, Sonia began to spread her lips and their tongues tied.
"Everything's going to be fine. So far, it's alright", whispered Noodle Boi.
