tom odell is a 26 year old singer-songwriter from Chichester in West Sussex, England. he has released two studio albums, Long Way Down (2013) and Wrong Crowd (2016), and received the critics' choice BRIT award in 2013 and the Ivor Novello Songwriter of the Year award in 2014. Lily Allen, who discovered him, likened his on stage presence to that of David Bowie.
opinions:
tom odell is by far my favourite music artist. i love him so, so much and his music is some of the only music that i ever use the word beautiful to describe.
the first song of his i heard was Another Love and it was my favourite song for literally years. you can always hear the emotion in his voice when he sings, and this song is no exception. in the verses you can hear his passion building up followed by his anger and disappointment in himself, because he wants to fall in love with someone but he can't because he used up all of his love on someone else.
i never listened to any more of his music until a few years later, when i first heard Wrong Crowd. i instantly fell in love with the piano at the beginning, so listened to the rest of the song and loved it.
from there i just slowly listened to the rest of the second album, and i still haven't actually listened to all of his first album yet. it's extremely hard for me to choose a favourite song of his, because they're all amazing and unique, but if i had to choose one it would probably be either She Don't Belong To Me or Silhouette.
and now he's released a new song and announced a new upcoming album which i'm so excited for. AND me and my sister have tickets to go and see him live and i literally can't wait. his music's so emotional and i love him so much and his ig story's always so awkward it's adorable and he's just the loml oh my gosh bye
