The taxi car didn't mind waiting so long, mainly because Lillya tipped him heartedly when she arrived at the park that night. The next two minutes of her time was spent running towards the other end of the park, where her new life- away from responsibilities- would begin.
And in the distance, she saw her escape, in what she knew as 'Matthew'. Eight feet of pure masculinity, needing little more than a leather jacket and a sleek car to capture her attention. He wore dark shades, and held a furious cigar in his hand. He turned his head towards her, and she grinned when he smirked in approval of the low cut blouse.
She greeted him from a distance, and jumped into the front seat without a single regret. Her new life begins now, with this mystery of a man with a forbidden aura that her teenage heart still went out for - though her womb had once felt the results of one foolish mistake.
He spoke in a gruff voice that made shivers run up her spine, "What took ya so long?"
She shrugged, tossing her purse into the back seat. He remained outside, relishing in the cool night air, savoring his cigarette.
However cool the night was, Lillya couldn't rid of the warmth that came with the thrill of teenage rebellion again. The feeling sent her blood pumping, and her senses heightened.
With the stench of smoke, and with the warning bells in her head, came the memories.
Memories that were now behind her, memories of a dark haired hero that she bore a child for.
Those first few months were bliss. Her Romeo had been such an amazing boyfriend, a selfless lover, and for a moment- a caring father.
But these few weeks, something changed.
One night he came home with a bag of money, and blood on his clothes. That night he changed into something that she could never love.
She shook her head, and took a deep breath. She almost started choking - it's been a while since she smelt cigarettes.
Lillya giggled away her worries, and snuggled closer into the seat.
Then Lillya looked at the man again, and found that he hadn't even glimpsed at her. So mired was he in his smoking, that he hadn't noticed her dilemma.
Lillya huffed. Well she wasn't going to let her opportunity wander because he wasn't noticing how available she was.
She was going to have to get his attention.
Lillya subtly pulled her shirt lower, revealing more of her skin. Then she leaned over the seat, and rapped at the window.
She got her wanted results, when he turned and laid eyes upon her. She grinned, and beckoned him closer.
She watched with giddiness as Matthew slid into the driver's seat and started the engine. Soon, they were on the road. And she treasured that feeling of adrenaline rushing through her veins again.
He snorted when she whooped in joy.
Matthew then asked, "Even yo baby can't tame yo wildness..."
She started to laugh, and then abruptly stopped. The simple fact that Lillya had never told Matthew of her life before stood out with that question. Then the fear started to creep up within her, especially when she realized that they were on the very street in which she had resided just minutes ago.
It was then Lillya tried to jump out the car, but it was somehow locked. Thinking rapidly, she gulped down as much air as possible, about to scream bloody murder, but cold steel pressed against her throat had her immobilized.
When the car pulled up to the house, only one thing came into mind, and in dread, the words slipped out, "My Honey Eyes..."
The driver gave a humorless laugh, and stepped out the car, "Oh, so now yer acting like a mother. Sorry girl, but I gat a job ta do."
The pleas fell upon deaf ears. Matthew dragged her by the arm, knife pressed firmly under chin while she fumbled with the keys he had given her. The door clicked open with and they both slipped in.
Matthew spoke as though it were his own home, "Ya know girl, the good thing 'bout livin' away an' hiding from the law, is that there ain't no neighbors to know wha' ya doin'."
Lillya was full out sobbing now. Whatever this guy wanted, she could bet her life that wasn't going to be nice. And as he journeyed to the bedroom of her son, she found herself mentally entertaining the thought of him leaving her son alone while he did whatever he wanted to her. But such thoughts were quickly discarded.
They inched closer; another male voice was clearly heard, boldly, then in tones much softer. An innocent's sleepy giggles were then heard in faint. Lillya knew that her husband- her Romeo- was home, but- that traitor was with their son.
The intruder stopped at the front of the door, and listened. So did she, and soon, she recognize just what Romeo was doing, and more tears gushed out.
He was telling their son a story, in only the way he can- through a tale. His way with words had been the very thing that made her fall for him- he could convince anybody to do anything while his tongue was legendary. But at this moment, she loathed his stories.
From what she gathered, he was leaving their son as well. On a business trip, and wasn't returning. He, of course, mixed that simple message well in his tale of a pirate and his wife and daughter. But in the end, another famous pirate killed the women, and the protagonist gained back his freedom.
And so enchanted was the intruder, that the young lady stole this opportunity to run into the room. Lillya made quite an entrance when she grabbed her sleeping son by his night- shirt and captured him in her arms. The husband was startled especially when she erupted into a waterfall. Romeo began sprouting colorful words when Matthew jumped into the room.
Though a few inches shorter, Romeo spoke to the man as though he had authority, "You had one freaking job to do! And that was to finish off them both! You idiotic imbecile!"
Matthew shook his head firmly, and even Lillya froze when he did, especially when her husband took a step back into safety, away from the giant. Perhaps what shocked them both to the core, was the fact that his lisp had been thrown straight out the window.
"I wouldn't hesitate to harm a man, nor a woman." He cast a glance towards Lillya, "But I promise you this, I will never lay my hands on a child.''
If ever there was a time to be grateful, it was now. So Lillya took this opportunity to splutter out her incomprehensible gratitude. However, Romeo was still dumbfounded -even more so when Matthew discarded the knife to the side, refusing to do as bided.
"I ain't gonna 'finish' no-body off." He repeated, emphasis with his fake language.
She heaved another sigh of relief, until she realized that her husband still stood rigid in his spot.
Romeo shot for the knife before she could. And once again, her life was maimed with the threat of cool steel. Matthew stepped closer, with narrow slits with silent threat.
"I'll pay you to just kill her then." Romeo said through grit teeth, "Get rid of that blasted girl-I can dump the child at an orphanage or something."
"Wait!" Lillya's voice rang loud- too loudly.
It took one single voice to break them all out into cold sweat, "Mommy? Daddy?"
