Again & Again

It was Joseon Era,rule of King Taejo. Im Ji El,the palace's youngest and newest court lady,was picking varieties of flowers as ordered by Court Lady Nam.

Ji El's POV:
I'm picking flowers in the garden right now,the garden is FILLED with them! It's the first job Court Lady Nam gave to me and she told me to explore for a little but do it carefully.

"It's really pretty here!" I said while going in circles. "It's really nice of Court Lady Nam to tell me to explore carefully and go——mmph!!

I almost fell to the ground but luckily, someone caught me.

"Are you alright?" the guy with a genuine box-like smile asked me.He was wearing royal clothes,like that of a prince.

"Y-yes..uhm..by a-any chance,are y-you a prince?" I asked.

"Yes. I'm Prince Wang Joo." he said,never getting rid of his smile.

I bowed as I say,"Mianhae..I was being careless."

"It's fine.Are you the new court lady? Court Lady Im?" he asked.

"Ne,I am." I replied.

"Nice meeting you. I'm sure my brother,Shin,will be very fond of you.You'll see him here often." he said.

"Nice meeting you too,your majesty." I replied.

"I'll treat you as a friend,so just call me Joo when it's only the two of us." he said while smiling so bright.

A smile that made my heart flutter.

"R-really? But I shouldn't!" I said.

"Oh..then just do what makes you comfortable with me." he said,still smiling.

I don't know what I'm feeling but it's my first time talking to a guy—a prince,in my case.

"I got to go now! See you around!" he said to me as we bowed at each other. He returned to the palace after that.

"Aishh! Ji El focus! Be careful from now on!" I said to myself,loudly.

"Talking to yourself?" someone from behind me asked.

I turned around and saw a guy.He must be Prince Shin,Prince Joo's brother.I quickly bowed as I recognized him.

"A court lady,I see.Can I court you then?" he said,laughing.

I was speechless.I don't know whether to be offended or feel anything at this point.

"Don't get your hopes up,we both know you and I can never be together." he said.

Wow he's full of himself,that I can say.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Speechless of my presence? Well yeah,I know it's hard to say anything in front of a handsome prince like me." he said.

Wow! Too much self-confidence,I see.

"I best be going now,see you around Ji El!" he said,smirking as he makes his way to the palace,leaving me speechless.

Wang Joo's POV:
I must admit,I like Ji El's presence.She makes me feel happier than usual.It's usually very boring here and she's just very interesting.

"Hey Wang Joo!" Shin says,casually walking towards me.

"Hey Shin!" I replied.

"What's got you smiling by yourself all of a sudden?" he asked.

"N-nothing much..I just met the new court lady and she's very nice." I said.

Speaking of,she's right over there!

I rushed to her,pulling Shin with me. She bowed to us as soon as she saw us.

"Hi Ji El!" I said.
"Hello,your majesties." she said.
"Have you met my brother Wang Shin?" I asked.
"Yes I have." she said.
"That's great!" I said.
"Whatever,I'll go now." my rude brother said as he walked away.
"I'm sorry,he's kind of rude sometimes." I said to her.
"It's alright,your majesty." she said.
"Are you going to give those to Court Lady Nam?" I asked,pointing at her basket of flowers.
"Ne." she said.
"Go ahead,let's talk again next time." I said.
She smiled at me,we bowed at each other and then went our separate ways.
