Part 22: Where's Lampoge?

(Lampoge's P.O.V)

I had lost this fight, but the war wasn't over yet. I still had one trick up my sleeve to get Kagome and us rule the world, but if this fails this will be the death of me, but it will also cause her to die a slow agonizing death. If I die I'm taking her with me.

I wanted Kagome not because I wanted a mate, but because she didn't know the true power she held within herself. Her spiritual powers were much stronger than that wench Kikyo, and yet she didn't even know she possessed it.

I wanted power. Kagome was the ticket to that power.

I must have her...

(Inuyasha's P.O.V)

Kagome was safe, thank god, but Lampoge was still on the loose. I had to go after him and kill him, but I had no idea where he could be.

Kagome was in bed. Her shoulder was badly burned and she couldn't move around much.

I could feel her pain. I could feel everything from her.

The fact that she was my mate I constantly wanted to make we better. I went to visit her in keade's hut all the time, but she was almost always asleep.

I am going to see her now. knowing her she'll be asleep. The pain must be hard for to bare. She is only human I mean.

I walked into the hut to find Kagome was sitting up. She had her knees pulled up to her chest with her arms around them.

"Kagome, are you ok?"

She nodded.

"What's going on? Did something happen?"

She nodded again.

"Kagome talk to me."

"When did you know I was you mate?"

The suddenness of her question through me off guard.

"Kagome. Somewhere deep inside me I've always known it, but I didn't realize until just now."

She looked up at me. Her usually beautiful brown eyes were bloodshot. She'd been crying. I hated to see her hurt.

"Inuyasha..."

"Kagome don't worry things are going to be ok."

I went over and sat beside her. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her to me.

She always smelled so good.

"Inuyasha... I can't get through the well..."

I looked at her. "You want to go back?"

"I want to say goodbye."

"You're leaving us?"

"I'm staying with you, but I want to say goodbye to my family."

"Kagome if it won't open then you have already said goodbye to them."

She snuggled closer to me. "Kagome I promise I will protect you."

She looked up and smiled at me.

(Lampoge's P.O.V)

Kagome was staying here. Good. Now I would really have a good chance of taking her.

Inuyasha may be her mate, but I will make her mine. No matter what.
