Simon's POV:
I finally arrived at home after the long day I've had so far. My daughter was upset with me, I finally told the boys about her, and now they're coming over for dinner. I'm sure Julie has gotten over herself by now, because I need her on her best behavior for this dinner. I opened the door, only to be greeted by a very nice aroma coming from the kitchen. "Hello, Marcus." I greeted our butler.
"Good evening, Mr. Cowell. The chefs are already doing their job in the kitchen, and the maids have finished their cleaning for the day." He answered me politely.
"Any word from Julie?" I asked him, concerned about how she felt after she left with Sophie earlier.
"No, sir. She has not arrived home yet. Only Ms. Sophie." He responded after walking away when I dismissed him. I sighed and decided to go upstairs to prepare myself for when the boys arrived.
"Hey, Uncle Si." Sophie greeted me with a smile.
"Good evening, Sophie. Any word from Jules?" I asked her, a slight bit concerned.
"Uh, yeah she said she would be here in a minute." she nodded her head answering me. We both turned our heads to the front door, seeing Julie come in. She had anger in her face and didn't look up at us once.
"Julie Anne Cowell, where have you been? I've been worried sick about you. You didn't tell anyone where you were. That's not like you." I said sternly.
Julie's POV:
I just rolled my eyes, still pissed off. "Well it's not like you to not listen to me." I muttered hoping he didn't hear me. Which he didn't.
"We have guests coming over for dinner so I expect you to be ready by 7." he replied. I just walked up the stairs and pushed past him. I honestly didn't give a shit. I wasn't planning on attending this 'dinner'.
"Count me out. I'd rather die." I muttered.
"Julie, watch your tone. I don't appreciate this 'attitude' of yours." he finally gave up and walked in a different direction going somewhere where I honestly didn't care about. I just rolled my eyes and ran into my room, with Sophie following me.
"Jules, what's wrong? You didn't even tell me what happened earlier." she asked, sitting on my bed.
"My so called 'father' is basically controlling my life. He's too overprotective and honestly he's annoying the shit out of me. I know if mom was still around he wouldn't be acting like this..." I trailed off and opened up my closet. I looked around for something to wear to this stupid dinner. I wasn't going to wear anything too fancy, but maybe a dress.
"Jules, you've got to give him a break. He's just trying to protect you. He cares about you, okay?" she came over to me and pat my shoulder. I sighed but nodded. The two of us got ready for dinner and both showed each other how we looked in the finished product.
"Oh, somebody's looking sexy." I giggled as Sophie twirled around in her outfit.
"Thanks, babe! You look gorgeous as always!" She commented, making me smile. I also did a little twirl in my dress.
"Why thank you!" I giggled, and we made our way downstairs.
"You ladies look lovely." my father remarked seeing us descend the staircase.
"Thanks." I still made no eye contact with him. I'm definitely one of those people who can hold a grudge. He sighed, making his way across the living room. Sophie nudged me, noticing my 'rude' behavior. We made our way into the dining room and saw how neatly and elegantly it was set up. We each took a seat in one of the 8 chairs around the table. We decided to sit across from each other, that way we could see each other better. I heard the doorbell ring, and my dad came to sit at the head of the table. Still not making eye contact with him, I fiddled with my fingers underneath the white tablecloth. Suddenly, I looked up and finally saw who our dinner guests were. One Direction.
