A girl gasped for breath as her bare feet hit the sharp rocks, and the branches of the swaying trees cut her tan arms, legs, and face. The girls dark hair came out of the ponytail and flowed long and free behind her. She pumped her arms at her side, and ducked under a tree branch.

Just a little farther, She thought to myself. Just a little farther and I'll be free...

There was a growl that sounded like pure evil laughter. Her heart lept nearly out of her chest, and she ran faster.

"Come on now little Noelle," Said a cruel voice by the girls ear. Noelle gasped and ran harder and faster, not caring her feet were hurting or that it felt like her chest was going to explode. "You can't save your little girl, give her up. She won't survive past seventeen..." Cooed the voice.

Noelle knew better then to respond, and she ran faster as the growling laughter came closer.

Her heart lept as she saw light. FINALLY! She yelled in her mind.

The growling was right by her ear and Noelle screamed as she flew to the ground with a huge manstiff on top of her.

The manstiff smiled cruelly. "Goodbye Spirit Wolf. May your daughter never live again."

Noelle spoke no more.
