Obsession (Chapter 2)

Okay so before we break into the story, I would just like to say a few things. I am trying to write to better my writing skills. This is purely for fun and for me. I would really appreciate any constructive criticism. Also if you would like me to read one of your stories all you have to do is 2 simple things. Fan me and then write a comment with some constructive criticism, please as much as I enjoy its good. Please say something specific that is good or bad or you would like to see more of or you would like to see changed. If you do that I will fan you and read your stories and leave you a comment on what I thought of it with as much as I can give back to you. Thank you for all the help. Also the more fans I get the more likely I am going to want to write faster. I generally have the story laid out but if you out there see and flaws I am more than willing to change it. After about 15 minutes of driving, the last 5 of which was really bumpy.

"Okay we are here " Eth said

"We are where?" I asked snootily

"Take off your blindfold silly"

"Ah good idea"

I took off my blindfold to see that I was at the local park. I thought maybe some badminton or Frisbee, but apparently Ethel had other plans. She grabbed my hand and we ran down one of the paths. We were running really fast and then we came to a clearing and my friends and family were there, with a barbeque grill and tons of food spread out on picnic tables. After the shock of seeing everyone, I said my hellos to everyone. Even Seth showed up which I thought was really cool of him. So my friends and family played games all afternoon ate some good cookout food. Then a cake came out and everyone sang, my brother screamed it obnoxiously but harmoniously. Everyone had cake, then my dad spoke up.

"Here here, I have always wanted to say that " My dad said.

"We have a special gift, for a special girl" My mom said.

With that they took out a key ring and on it was key. A lot of thoughts ran through my head, did they install a lock on my room to keep out my brothers? Did they buy me a safe? Before I could finish my next thought they clicked something on the key ring and the cutest little yellow VW bug's lights lit up. I was shocked! Are they kidding a new car! This is so great! I screamed for a solid minute jumping around all my friends and family clapping and laughing. The next minute was filled with thank yous to my parents while I jumped around and hugged them. It started getting dark so everyone decided to head home.

"You can drive your new car home, Pen" Dad said.

"But be safe and follow all the rules of the road " Mom chimed in.

"Can I take Seth home first, then I will be home?" I asked with a little smirk on my face.

"Sure , but home right after" My dad said sternly.

This is the best birthday ever, now I don't have to rely on my parents or Eth for rides. I mean I am sure I still will get rides from Eth but now I have options.

"Ready birthday girl? Seth inquired.

"Yup lets roll, baby cakes" I said with pure excitement.

I started up the car and turned on the lights, looked both ways before pulling out on the road. I rolled down the windows let the cool summer breeze blow my hair around, this was a such a great day, nothing could bring me down.

"I had a blast at your birthday, your family is really cool." Seth said

"Thanks, yeah I had such a great day, and this car is PERFECT" I said gleefully.

"So want to hang out this weekend, dinner and a movie kinda thing?"

"Sure that sounds great!"

" I'll even let you drive, haha "

" You sure you want to be seen in a yellow Bug "

" I don't mind as long as I get seen with you" Seth said smoothly

I blushed a little, Seth was amazing he was just adding to the perfectness of the day. We pulled up to his house.

"Well this is my stop" Seth said

"It seems that way .... I would go another time around the block but I promised my parents I would get home right away."

"Yeah, that makes sense, " He said, then he leaned over and kissed me on the lips. He pulled away and then went off to his house.

"Okay talk to you later, I'll call you"

"Sounds good, I look forward to it" I said still stunned by the kiss

I just stayed there for a second soaking up the experience, still smelling his cologne and recalling the tenderness of his kiss. He turned around and waved good bye. I drove off heading home, thinking about the day and how great it was. Then I thought about the kiss with Seth, we have kissed before and they have all been good, Seth is a really good kisser, but this one seemed different, better, real ... perfect. I pulled into my driveway, locked my car and headed inside. My parents were waiting up for me.

"Made it home safe" I said.

My parents smiled. They could see that they made my day and were proud of themselves and proud of me. They trusted me so much that they bought me a new car.

"You deserved it Pen" My dad said.

"You have to be careful though, having your own car is a big responsibility, but your father and I trust you, so don't let us down." Mom said.

" I will be very responsible I promise" I said

"You haven't let us down before Pen so we are not worried about you but you still have to pay attention to other drivers because there are some bad drivers out there." Dad said in a lecturing fashion.

" I know daddy, don't worry, I am tired I am going to bed" I said and kissed my dad on the cheek and give him a hug.

"Night Mom" and gave my mom a hug and a kiss.

As I ascended the stairs, a feeling of bliss filled me up and I smiled. I got to my room changed into my PJ's and looked in the mirror and was positively beaming. My life was so great right now, nothing can go wrong. I felt invincible. Graduated High School with a 3.92 GPA, I got accepted to the school of my choice, Yale. I just got a new car, and a sweet little summer job where I can save some money for college. I drifted off to sleep rather quickly because I had a very busy day.

I woke up smiling. First day of my new job. I got all ready. Then I got a phone call.

"You ready? Ethel asked

"Of course, why do you ask? I said

"Did you not check your schedule? Ethel said kind of annoyed

"No they just told me to show up this morning."

"OH, well pick me up I will explain on the way" Eth said

"What why would I do that " Then I thought for a minute " REALLY!" I said excitedly

"Yup, now get over here in your new bug and pick me up!"

"Okay be there in 5" I said

"See you in a few" Said Eth

I ran down the stairs, made sure I had all my stuff. My parents had just finished breakfast and were getting ready for work.

"Gotta go, work today, Bye Fam" I said as I grabbed my keys and ran out the door.

"Bye, Sweetheart" My parents said. I could hear my mom yell be safe, she was always worrying. I pulled up to Ethel's house and she came bursting out, we were both wearing matching bathing suits shorts and flip flops. We were both lifeguards this summer. Eth said she got hired at another beach so I thought we would hang out on our days off, but it looks like I get to spend the summer with my best friend. We got to the beach and put on our sun tan lotion, got in our big chairs and in between making sure everyone was safe ,we checked out hot guys. This summer was going to be great.
