Pax hadn't seen or heard from Frost for three days. She was starting to worry that she crossed the line. As she sat at her computer in her room, she growled as the loud music from the club, distracted her concentration, "No peace, no quiet!" She stormed out of her sanctuary and headed down stairs. She made her way to the VIP section and was shocked to see Frost sitting across from a love sick Harley and a bored Joker. Pax turned to Frost with a sad smile, "May I talk to you?"
Frost nodded as he eased off of the sofa. Pax turned to Harley as she spoke, "Don't they make a cute couple. Ha ha ha.." Pax looked to Joker as he quickly looked down and then back to her eyes. Pax smirked as she pushed up her right arm at a ninety degree angle while hitting the bend of it with her left fist.
Harley did a double take to Pax and Joker as he threw his head back to laugh, "What tha fuck does that mean?"
Joker caught Pax's eye and smirked as he saw her wink as she walked out. "Well baby doll, thats a fancy way of saying fuck you." He started to laugh again. Harley mumbled as she pulled a pistol from his arm holster but was stopped, "Easy now cow girl! Put that away!"
Harley pouted as she did. She crossed her arms, "She's not funny."
Joker slid her closer, "Don't let some kid piss you off, besides I gave Frost my word, she's not to be harmed."
Harley purred as she straddled him, "Yeah, but I didn't."
Joker tightly grabbed both of her arms, "Yeah, but I promised her, I'd keep you in check. So, stay away from her."
Harley had pain on her face as she squirmed in his grasp, "Yes sir."
Joker pushed her to the side as he pushed off the couch, "I mean it Harley."
Harley sat in an angry daze with her arms crossed as he left for the night.
Joker made his way up to the penthouse but stopped when he heard Pax talking, "I'm sorry Frost. I didn't mean.."
She didn't get to finish her sentence as Frost pulled her to him and hugged her. Frost seemed like a giant to her small stature. "Just get it done and you can go."
Pax nodded as she cried while he hugged her, "It's going to take me a while. I can't concentrate with all the noise here. If it's not the club, it's the chaos during the day. In the apartment I had some peace and quiet."
Frost sighed, "Ill see what I can do."
Pax nuzzled her nose into his shirt and inhaled, "I missed you."
"I missed you too." Pax looked up as Frost kissed her forehead.
Joker eased away to his room before they were aware of his ease dropping.
He laid in bed alone that night as he stared at the ceiling with his right arm tucked under his head. He kept playing little images of Pax over in his head, especially when she carelessly winked at him. He was slightly frustrated that he already formed a crush on his young prisoner.
The next morning Pax was shocked to see Joker with Frost standing at the bottom of the stairs with his hands tucked into his pockets and wearing a sad smile, "Hey kiddo."
Pax cut her eyes to the two, "What's going on?"
Frost gently grabbed her hand, "He's moving you to a quieter place."
"But, not you?" Frost looked down as he shook his head and then looked back up to her face. Pax shook her head as she disagreed, "No! I'll manage!"
She turned to Joker, "Please, don't separate us! I'll manage!"Frost grabbed her shoulders and gently shook her, "Hey, I promise I'll come by and check on you. I will."
Pax looked down as she cried, "They don't trust me do they? They think you would help me escape?"
