Chapter One

My heart fluttered. My mind locked on the subject at hand, myself. This was what it was comparable the first time I created an illusion. The dark, haunting music that was [insert song here] danced around me, it's lyrics causing me to dive deeper into what felt like a dream. I turned the temperature down, causing goosebumps to form on my flesh. The lights dimmed, and I created a dark blue flame in my hand, trying to create heat that would flow from its aura. The illusion was difficult, I remember, like trying to complete a 100 puzzle piece in a matter of seconds. The darkness of the room flicked, before resorting to its original state, a white, empty room.

"Great job." I created a voice to say to myself, it was a happy voice.

I, however, was not happy.

I hated the asylum.
