Adrian's POV
The man that violated Zainab managed to escape his cell, and took one of my guns. How, I do not know. But I have a gang of armed men at my service. Being rich does have its advantages.
My CCTV footage shows me that he ran towards a local club in town, one that I visit every now and then. Who knows what he'll do if he gets in there.
'James, we're gonna need some men. One of my prisoners escaped and I need backup,' This isn't the first time that I've been in this kind of situation so I know who to call and what to do. James reaches the basement in minutes and there are men and guns in his van.
We ride to the club, and James outlines the plan. No one will die because they'll aim low, this way, they can cause a distraction while two of his experts catch The Asshole. Suddenly, a thought comes to mind: what if Zainab's at the club? I shrug it off quickly, she has already told me about her dislike of any type of club. Still, I text her.
Me: I need to talk to you.
Me: It's important
I wait for her reply, but none comes, so I text her again. Her phone must be on silent: she's probably sleeping.
The traffic doesn't help our pursuit, but after 15 minutes we arrived at the parking lot at the back of the club. I decide to come along with them, what fun will it be to stay away from the action?
James and 10 others run to the club in front of me, while I notify the guards of what's going on. They let us in to the 12th floor where the actual club is. The guns are loaded.
At once, the shots sound and after a small second of realisation, the club goers are screaming and running around wildly. The scene is a riot. Some are knocked down while others make a run for the outdoor balcony. Luckily, I instructed James to make sure that the guns contained non-lethal bullets, they'll make you bleed, and will hurt, but the effects will wear off within a week or so.
Two of the men have allegedly seen the man in the crowd, so I let them go to catch him. James instructs his guys to stop shooting so he can go and talk to some eye-witnesses.
'I'll go with you, I know exactly how he looks,' I say.
'Fine.' He leads me towards the balcony, and I follow him. I stare at a few of the unconscious bodies lying on the floor around me. I feel less guilty knowing that they won't die.
'Adrian?' I hear a small voice ask. I look around the floor and freeze when I see Zainab clutching onto a man.
'Zainab? What're you doing here? I tried to text you.' I walk over to her and as I near her, I see that her face is streaming with tears and her mascara is running down her cheeks.
'What have you done?' She spits. I bend down to her height.
'I had to. Don't worry, it won't kill him,' I reply. She breathes a sigh of relief and looks down at him. I had no idea she was here. I explain to her what happened but she doesn't seem to want to understand.
'What did this man do anyway?' I mentally slap myself, I hadn't thought this bit through.
'That doesn't matter...'
'Yes, Adrian, it does. You can't start an uprising just because some man escaped from your wrath.' I didn't expect her to get angry at me, because no one is dying.
'He stole one of my guns.'
'What? Who cares! Why do you even need a gun?' She snaps, looking at me with disgust.
'Because-' I start, but she interrupts me.
'Forget it. I'm going to the hospital with Zerkan.' Zerkan? Is that her boyfriend? She stands up and walks towards a paramedic that was approaching us. I sigh and leave the building. I acted too quickly, and my actions have consequences.
