"Who?" Ava asked.

You see, we're in a huge public school and to be noticed, you either have to be smart or popular.

"Wait. Let me think." Ava said whilst furrowing her eyebrows,"Egan, Egan, Egan." By the look of her face, I can see that she is thinking hard.

"Nope. I don't know who he is."

I shook my head and chuckled,
"He's the cute one."

Ava furrowed her eyebrows again and said, "Wow, you make it so obvious that you like him, huh?"

I curtseyed and said "Well of course."
"You have to be proud of your man."

Ava laughed sarcastically and joked, "Says you!"

We spent the rest of the day wondering the park near our houses. If you haven't notice, Ava here is a very good friend of mine. We've been friends since Elementary School. We both have this weird sense of humor that not everyone can understand. It's kind of embarrassing.

As we wondered the park together, the sun begun to set and Ava and I realized that the day is almost over. I hugged her goodbye. We part ways and started to walk to each of our houses.

I swore loudly and shouted, "I forgot my phone!"

I ran to the bench that I've sat on as fast as I could. My phone was still there, untouched, thankfully.

At this point, everything was pitch black. Only the light of the moon and the street light shun brightly.

"Well at least there are some light." I mumbled.

I've always hated the dark. It's terrifying for me. When it's dark, while your vision gets blurry, your senses apart from your eyesight improve. You can hear better. You can feel better. Or at least I believe so. You can hear every whispers, every footsteps, every movements around you much better. And the thought of that is very unsettling for me.

And as I walk to the gate of the park, I can see an outline of an undetected person walking towards me. I froze.

"Excuse me, can you please-"

"Oh, I'm sorry." I said while opening the gate for him in embarrassment. I probably look like a freshly-picked tomato right now.

He smiled politely and as he walked pass me, I realized that the stranger was no stranger to me. It was Egan.
