"Okay, I will just answer the questions-" I start.
"Did we ask you a question yet? You only answer." James teases, still serious as ever. I'm trying so hard not to laugh. The audience's giggles make it harder though. "Well, what are you waiting for? I asked you a question." He says, making me think back to the conversation.
"No, you didn't ask me a question. Now you did. And I am waiting for nothing." I respond. I can tell James is a bit nuzzled by my answers which makes the situation even funnier.
"Okay," He awkwardly responds after a long pause. The audience bursts out laughing.
"She's quite the smart one, innt' she?" He turns to look at Corden.
"Whatever," He responds childishly, all being part of the act, of course. "OK, now seriously. How are you so kind? I was like, why isn't this girl running away yet?" He asks.
"Well, I-" I'm doubting whether to tell them my original plan or not. I decide to do so. "I was thinking of meeting up with him if he called me to then set him up with a psychologist. I was quite worried about him." I explain.
"Does she get any nicer than that?" James says looking at the camera in front of him. I innocently giggle. "Weren't you creeped out?"
"Oh yes, very much." I respond sincerely, receiving laughs from everyone. "But I was forcing myself to hang on for he better. Plus, I kept thinking he was harmless. It kept me going."
"But what if I wasn't harmless?" Harry asks.
"Hey, that was my question!" James tells Harry off, amusing me and the audience. "Who's the interviewer here, Harold? Is it you?" As James acts angrily, Harry opens his mouth to speak but James speaks before. "No, you are the interviewee. Got it?"
"Got it." Harry nods, trying not to laugh.
"What does it say here?" James blurts while pointing at his coffee mug.
"The Late Late Show with James-" Harry reads.
"The Late Late Show with James Corden." James interrupts. He's really funny. "James Corden, not Harold Sticks. Got it?" The crowds' laughs grow even louder, so does mine. Harry gives in and starts leaning forward because of how much he's laughing. "Well, back to Geralda." He teases.
"Oh God," I say before letting him continue and bend forward to place my forehead on my palm. James finally stops acting and lets himself laugh along with everyone else. Including the Roots. "That was so awkward." I complain when lifting my head up. "I was trying so hard not to call him out for that!" James is trying to speak but his extreme laughing gets in the way. I look at Harry who has possibly been staring at me this whole time who amusingly whispers 'Sorry' and I just shake my head while smiling.
"I made him do that. When he started to ask you out and stuff we were testing you to see how far you were willing to go. Your answers were smart." He compliments, still laughing.
I thank him and Harry starts talking. "Did you notice the sudden change in my voice? I thought that had given it away." He asks. He suddenly turns to James and apologizes sarcastically for having asked me a question.
"I did actually, but you were so weird already I thought that was just something you did." I utter honestly. I notice some people in the audience already crying from so much laughing.
"Well, Gigi, you are now known as the Nice Girl." James affirms. And I nod while laughing.
"I would just like to say that I'm quite offended," Harry says with his posh accent while turning to look at me. I suddenly feel goosebumps emerging from my arms. What did I do? "You said your favourite 1D member was Niall." Harry answers my thoughts.
James makes a Daamn type of sound and I bury my face in my hands before responding. "I only said it to get the question off my back. Plus, when you insulted yourself I defended you!" I debate, still maintaining my manners.
"True, that, Harold." James agrees.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Harry sarcastically complains.
"Did you never think this was some sort of prank, Gigi?" James asks.
"To be honest, no. Not really. I knew people like him existed. Finding one didn't seem weird to me. What confused me was the fact that he was working at Target." I explain.
I am asked a couple more questions until James announces the break. I am asked to go home after that. I'm not offended. The interview was originally for Harry, but then I came in and all questions were directed at me.
It is extremely late. I won't be able to talk to Archie today. Well, yesterday 'cos its past midnight. The drive back is confusing but I manage to find my way.
Nancy isn't in the room when I arrive but I decide to shower, go to bed and let my dreams guide me through the night.
