as i wake up from the world of dreams, i quickly realize today will be a make or break kind of day for me. today is my first day of high school. new school, new state, new...well..everything. just then, i hear the sound i waa dreading, "Addie! time to get ready for school!" cries the monster i have to call a mom. as i bite back a sarcastic reply, i start down the hallway. i peer into my older brothers room to see what hes got done with his unpacking. i look in and am taken aback almost instantly. "how many posters of naked girls do you need Brent!" "well for you information, this is for my pure entertainment.not yours." a sly grin crosses his face and i gag. "way more then i need there bro. but thanks for the image." as i sit down to the kitchen table, mom leans over and stares. just.....stares. "is there something i can help you with?" " no,no,no...its just...you remind me of myself when i was younger. and well...lets just say your brother will be fighting more guys then he can handle if you anything like me." she gives me a wiggle of her brows and winks. "EWW! mom! gross!" i lose my appetite and go back to my room to get ready. as i strip down and ready the water, i think, of everything that led to where im living today.its mainly my dads fault. hes not the kind of guy you would want to meet. he basically ran off with his little girlfriend and left us to live a new life and start over.but that's doesn't begin to cover all he has done. But i cant change the past so it is what it is.i grab my bag and head out the door. the Good thing about a brother in his senior year, is that he drives me practical anywhere want to go. "get in fugly" he says as he cranks the car. i get in the car. we start and things get serious. "listen Addie, i know its freshmen year for you. and i just want you to know I'm here." "did mom make you say that?" he looks at me and smiles. "yes, but i mean it" just the our eyes meet and i know we ar thinking the same thing. dad. we both hate him for what he did to mom, but as she says,"hes our dad" we pull into school and i hold my breathe. my brother hops out of the car, "well....lets go."
I get out the car and head straight for the hell hole ill be stuck in for four more years.
