I thought today would be like any regular Tuesday in high school. I was hanging out with my friends, Alex and Matthew, but I get a call from the VSHQ or Vampire Slayer Headquarters, and there are 4 vampires in the area. Well that's my luck, I have a paper due tomorrow and I just got a history project. Plus, I don't want to tell Alex that he has to skip practice to hunt vampires. Can life get any worse? Don't answer that.

The plane ride was painful and awkward. Not only because the kid across the isle from me cut her finger and I could smell the temptation of the blood beckoning me but also because there was still unsaid tension floating in the air. I had to leave my whole life behind because of a situation my brother Danny got himself into at our old high school and exposed the fact him, Nick and I were vampires. Yes, vampires sorry to say we do not sparkle like in those crappy Twilight movies (sorry not sorry). While I live an average life of a teenage girl, I have been traveling to different places staying under the radar of anyone out to expose vampires to the public. I currently live with my brother Danny, best friend Nick, and our guardian Thomas. He took care of us after our parents went who knows where and left us on his door step with a note warning that we may bite. I think a Parenting 101 class would be helpful for them. Anyway, off that topic we now have to relocate and pray that Illinois isn't nutcase central, especially since I am going to a new high school with new people who could be a bunch of crack heads for all I know. All we need is a bunch of nut cases coming after us. As I walk up to our new horridly colored beige house I can already tell this is going to be one hell of a week.

Well, other than literally dragging Alex to the golf course, my day is going crappy. It was really funny hearing Alex complain like a two year old girl, I couldn't help but laugh. He sounded like a little kid screeching and a whiny boy who's toy car broke.
After locating Matthew, we headed to our "chamber of the dead" or basement of Alex's house. "Ok, so do any of you have any plans for killing 4 vampires?" I say.
"Well if they are hot. Matthew and I could pretend that we like them and take them to a room-" I interrupt Alex "I dont want to hear anymore."
"Well Alex has a good idea," Matthew states.
"Come on guys! This is serious, one of them could be having a early afternoon snack right now, killing some innocent little child, or somone's parents. We have to be more professional!"

I don't bother unpacking anything because all I brought was a tote bag full of stuff. We didn't have much time before the news reporters would be at our house. We had to dispose of everything and by dispose I mean burn down our entire house. It's not like we were there that long, we never stay much longer than 4 months but I was finally starting to feel like being myself was the first thing I could do. I hear tires squeak outside so I decide to scope out the neighborhood. As I walk outside a bus starts to pull away from our block and I see a girl about my age walk past. She doesn't really notice me because she's too absorbed in her ear piercingly loud music but I decide its best to make friends before starting in a new school. I walk over to her and she takes out her ear buds slightly annoyed but I see a sense of curiosity flash in her eyes. I introduce myself and she says her names Maddie in a quiet unsure tone of voice. She seems shy at first but I ask her about the music she's listening to and the words come pouring out of her mouth. She was listening to The Fray. Was she a gift from the heavens? About an hour later we are giggling on her front door step with an iPod laying in-between us as we watch my new favorite YouTube show Most Popular Girls in School. Thomas comes outside looking for me and he tells me I have to come inside for dinner. I say goodbye to my new friend. She said she will show me around school tomorrow and introduce me to her friends. Hey, maybe things might actually go right or once.
