You clutched the pregnancy test tightly as you stared at yourself in the mirror.

Your mind flashes back to the night you lost your lover, the father to your child, Keith Kogane. That night was a sad one, for you and many others.
--Flashback--
You and Keith were driving home from Pidge and her Girlfriend's house, where they held a movie night with all of your friends. You were driving, as Keith had drank a few beers with the boys. It was a fun drive, with you belting the lyrics to some throwback songs together.
You were taking off the brakes to start driving again, as it was a green light until a speeding van slammed into the back left of the car, sending you off the bridge and falling into the woods below.
You frantically tried to slam you foot onto the brakes and stop the car but you attempts were in vain, you were both crying, bracing yourselves for pain. The car slammed into a tree, inches from a cliff and you took shaky breaths, checking to see if Keith was okay before attempting to open your door, it didn't budge.
He looked as disheveled as you, with wet cheeks and a scared look on his face, also taking slow, shaky breaths.
He unbuckled both of your seatbelts and looked you in the eyes.
"Look at me." he said calmly, but you could still see fear written all over his features. He asked you to pass him your shoe, which you slipped off and slowly put it into his grasp.
He leaned forward and kissed you passionately on the lips and grabbed the back of your neck with one hand. You attempted to pull away when you felt his shoulder moving vigorously and heard glass smashing.
It stopped after a few seconds and Keith told you to relax, and he pulled away from your embrace to motion to the car door.
"Try and open the door from outside." he said, holding onto your left arm.
You nodded, stuck your arm out of the hole in the window and tried to open it, it worked. Keith slowly pushed you out of the door when it opened and he carefully crawled over to the driver's seat. He put one arm on the grass and you grabbed his other arm with both of yours.
Keith had crawled halfway out when the car shifted towards the cliff and he looked up at you with a scared expression before rapidly scrambling towards you, while you pulled him, tears streaming down your face. He was almost in your arms but, his foot got tangled in the seatbelt as he tried to pull it out, the car started creaking and slowly slipping closer to the edge as you both sobbed and panted.
"Keith, hurry up!" you sobbed, watching the car go down further.
"I- I'm trying!" He choked out, tears now streaming down his cheeks too.
You grabbed his cheeks and kissed him passionately, your salty tears mixing. He pulled away and your sobs filled the air, he was hiccuping and hyperventilating, and so were you. You hears sirens come towards the two of you and you felt the slightest bit better.
You pulled Keith in for a hug but failed as you heard the car rapidly sliding and Keith was pulled away with it, screaming your name, reaching out for you. You screamed and ran towards him, kicking off your other shoe in the process. You grabbed a tree and reached out for him just as his knee touched the cliff.
He grasped your hand and you groaned and grunted, the weight of him and the car was too much for you. His hand was slipping and you tried digging your nails into his hand to grip it. You heard people rushing towards you and you sighed.
"It's all ok, people are here to help." You whispered, your voice croaky from screaming. But you were mainly trying to convince yourself.
Keith whimpered and nodded, breathing slowly. The paramedics found you and advanced towards Keith before you felt a tug on your hand and Keith screaming.
His hand slipped from yours, the sweat helping it slide away with ease as you screamed eachother's names. You threw yourself to the cliff's edge and tossed down your hand, your fingertips touched.
The last thing you saw was his scared face morph into a loving smile and tears falling from his eyes before a paramedic pulled your thrashing form away.
You head Keith shout, at the top of his lungs, "I love you (Y/N)!"
You fell limp and heard nothing but white noise, the whole world became a blur as you processed the fact that your husband just died in front of you.
--flashback finished--
You slowly walked downstairs, wiping away your tears and shouting your brother, Lance.
He ran to the stairs, alert for news and you lamely tossed him the test. He started crying and engulfed you in a hug as you cried in eachother's arms.
"I'm so sorry (Y/N)..." he hicupped, as you shook your head.
"I'm going to raise them to be like him, a kind-hearted, loving person."
--Nine months later--
You had just given birth to a beautiful baby boy, with your husband's beautiful eyes, pale skin and a small tuft of raven hair. But he had your nose and lips.
Just looking at him made you think of Keith, you cried tears of joy and sadness, remembering him and seeing his son.
You handed him to Lance, who had stars in his eyes and he whispered "He has your nose..." and booped the bundle in his arms' tiny nose, causing a coo and slight smile.
"What are you gonna name him?" asked the smiling nurse.
You smiled and announced "Ashleigh Kogane"
The nurse nodded, you filled out a paper while everyone remembered what Keith said at the last movie night.
--flashback--
"What would you name your first child Keith?" Hunk asked as all eyes landed on the ravenette.
"Ashleigh, with an igh. It's a unisex name, and a nice one." He smiled.
--End flashback--
Lance laughed happily at Ashleigh's smile while you smiled fondly at the two. Your friends were also there, with gifts and food for the two of you.
As Allura was with Pidge, Hunk, Coran and Lance, playing with Ashleigh, Shiro sat next to you and squeezed your hand. "You've done well coping (Y/N), you're so strong. Single parenting is hard, and we'll all be here for you, you know that?"
You smiled and nodded.
"Don't you want to find someone new? To support you and Ashleigh?" He asked, concerned.
You shook your head, no.
"I have all the love and support I need here, with you guys. And I moved in with Lance, he's my brother so he wants to help me raise my baby. He'll be a good uncle."
"Yeah, he will."
And with that your life as a single mother started, you missed Keith, but you turned the memories with him into lessons for Ashleigh, to sculpt him into a good man...
Like Keith.
