To This Day by Shane Koyzcan is one of my favorite spoken words because it is meant to show that simple words can affect someone and that the saying " sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me is one of the biggest lies we tell each others and ourselves right next to "I'm fine." in reality words can hurt more than anything physical wounds can heal but the mental scars stay forever. The constant torment i was given because i was "Fat" or "unathletic" or a "nerd" has left a scar that will probably never heal and this torment continues "To this day" and "To this day" i have a mental war going on at all times and i know im not the only one. there is to many people that come to school including myslef that come in and fake a smile and try to fit into the mold society has for us and push our way through school and hide how we feel. And we do this jsut to go home and breakdown and hide in our rooms and hide our problems from everyone including our family. we hide everything that makes us different and anything that makes us seem less normal. To this day by Shane koyzcan represents me because i am one of the people he talks about with the mental problems
