"Kid.... kid, can you hear me?...." "Uh.. " With hazy vision, I woke up.. I couldn't remember anything.. I didn't even remember what I looked like. I stared at the blurry figure, trying to make out a face. I closed my eyes, and opened them again. The figure was gone.

I rushed over to a mirror and saw a tall, fairly muscular boy with dark brown hair. "That must be me." I thought to myself.

I walked around the building for a while, but to my disbelief, no one was there. I remember stumbling over a tall door, and opening it. What I saw that moment was unforgettable...

I didn't know where I was. Everything I saw there was dark and still. Nothing made a move. I looked back, and the door had disappeared. When I turned back around, the scene had completely changed, aside from being dark and lifeless. I walked into the nearest building, which seemed to be a hotel of some sort... But all I saw were empty rooms. "Hello?" I said, hoping someone or something would answer. That's when it got weird. I heard a shrieking noise. So high-pitched that I'm surprised I was able to hear it. I ran back to the door, and reached for the handle, but there was none. Then I remembered that when I came in, the door had already been open. I didn't know what to do other than pray that this was all just a bad dream.

I didn't want to go anywhere else, but I had to find some other way out. I went up the stairs, because I sure as anything wasn't using the elevator. I saw a shadow on the floor. No, two shadows. But one was mine, and no one else was there. The other one looked like mine too, but how could that have been possible? The whole place was mostly dark, with red carpets on the floor and I passed many rooms, but they were all locked with a note on each one saying "do not disturb".

As I explored a while longer, I saw that shadowy figure I saw when I woke up. He was clearer now at first, but I was pretty sure it was the same guy. "Can you tell me where I am? I don't know what's going on." But the man just stood in silence. I got closer to him, and saw that he was only a wax statue. That's when I heard a loud buzzing noise.. Like something was rattling. So I walked over to the elevator, which said it was currently on floor 4. Then 5. Then 6. This place was getting really creepy now. But surprisingly, there were no cobwebs. The place looked like it had just been cleaned. I knew the first place I went when I got here shouldn't have been a hotel. I've seen my share of horror films to know that was a bad idea. But I didn't have time to beat myself up for it. I had to find a way out.

I walked up some more stairs and heard some wheels turning. Like... shopping cart wheels. But that couldn't have been right. Cleaning cart! I knew I'd heard that sound before. But no one was there. I turned around and almost wet myself, but what I saw was only another wax statue. It looked like that same man again. I didn't really know what to think of this place. I found a light switch on the wall, but of course, it didn't work. I tried another door, which strangely didn't say "do not disturb" like all the others had. I opened it and walked in. That's when I heard "I've been expecting you."
