You stumbled back, realizing what you done. Crap.
"Hey, are you okay?" Jimin hurried to your side, keeping you from collapsing on the floor.
"Y-yeah, I fine." You regained your balance and took a step shakily. "Just a bit out of my mind at the moment."
Jimin nodded, taking a step back. "Just, be careful, Y/N. I don't want you to get hurt or anything."
As if I can get hurt here. You smiled despite the thought. Then pain suddenly shot through your left ankle, making you wince. Wait. I can't get hurt here. Then why... You glanced at Jimin suspiciously. He was heavily leaning on his right leg as if he was trying to keep his other foot from touching the ground. You slid opened the door, beckoning him to come in.
"What?"
"Isn't it obvious?" You gestured again. "I'm telling you to come in."
"Why?" Jimin lingered in front of the entrance. You gently dragged him in with his right hand, the door closing behind him. You sat him down in the living room with a sigh.
"You aren't going anywhere with that sprained ankle."
He looked at you in surprise. "How did you know?"
"I just do, okay?" You paced around the room, trying to figure out a solution. What to do with a sprained ankle. What to do. What to do.
"Does the reason you know have to do with you not existing or something?" Jimin asked, stopping you in your tracks.
You turned to him with an incredulous look. "Seriously? Does that even make any sense to you?"
He shook his head slowly but spoke up again. "But then, the situation right now doesn't make any sense either, does it?"
He has a point. "If you could ever be so kind, could you please forget about what I said?" You turned to Jimin hopefully.
"Uh, sorry, but I don't think I can forget about that," he replied, testing out his ankle. "That was quite a scene."
"Can you not!" You shouted, another shot of pain shooting up your leg. "Stop moving your freaking ankle!"
"Okay, geez." Jimin leaned back into the sofa, closing his eyes. "But when am I going home?"
"If you want to go to the hospital for a not-so-serious sprain, go ahead, I'm not stopping you. If you want to limp all the way to the entrance of the neighborhood for a taxi, you're free to do so. If both of those options don't appeal to you, stay here."
"I- I, uh," Jimin stuttered in confusion.
"You can use that guest room over there," you said, nodding to one of the doors nearby. "There's a bathroom inside too." Stretching, you turned around and started walking up the stairs. "If you're here by tomorrow morning, I'll take it that you're staying here."
With that, you walked into your room and collapsed on your bed, immediately falling asleep.
-
"Where's Jimin?"
You turned to Seokjin, yawning. "At the airport, why do you ask?"
"You let him go on that trip alone?" He shouted, making you flinch and look at him with fear. "Are you crazy Y/N? He might die on the freaking plane! Were you even thinking? This was our second chance. The Elders were kind enough to give us and him another try. What if he dies? Do you think you'll be able to handle that? You were completely devastated last time."
You gulped, finally realizing the seriousness of the situation. "I- I just-"
"Let's see tomorrow," Seokjin sighed, ruffling his hair. "Hopefully nothing bad happens."
Hours passed, and it was nearing dawn. The entire night you were awake, checking your phone constantly, trying to find any news on Jimin.
"If there's nothing this time, I'm going to sleep." You held your phone, searching up anything that might be related. And there it was. An article. "No. Please no."
One paragraph in and despair was weighing heavily in your chest. "No," you whispered. "This can't be true."
The plane Jimin was on had a minor accident, and most of the passengers escaped with injuries. All but one. The one who stayed behind to help others. The one who prevented people from dying. The one named Park Jimin.
"No!" You shouted, throwing your phone angrily at the wall."Again? What kind of destiny is this? No matter what I do, it doesn't have any effect. Why do I have to do this? Is this my destiny too? To see a loved one die over and over again?"
-
You woke up, sitting upright. That was the second try. You didn't know why you kept on dreaming about the past years. Every night it would be a different year, a different situation.
You glanced at the clock, which read 2:28 AM. Sighing, you got of bed and trudged downstairs, pain shooting through your left ankle. That idiot. What is he doing now? You walked down the rest and walked towards the living room. When there was no sight of a human there, you made your way to the guest room. Creaking open the door slightly, you peaked in, looking for some human evidence. The bed was perfectly made and everything was in their rightful place. You quietly closed the door and stood in front of the door.
"What are you doing up?"
You jumped in surprise. Turning on instinct, you accidently slapped the person who was standing there. Not even a second later, the sound of glass shattering rang throughout the house. You started looking for the light switch, and when you did, you hurriedly flipped it on. Turning around, you saw Jimin standing next to pieces of broken glass.
"Are you okay?" You asked him, getting a broom and a dustpan.
"Yeah, but sorry about the cup," Jimin answered, stepping away to let you clean.
"Nah, it's fine," you said assuredly. "It's technically my fault for knocking it out of your hand, so don't you dare start blaming yourself."
Jimin stayed silent, observing you. A few minutes later, you were done. You sat down on the couch and turned to him. "Why were you awake?"
"I could ask the same thing." He laughed. "But yeah, I was awake because I couldn't sleep. You?"
"Dreams."
"Dreams?"
You nodded, yawning. "I hate dreams."
"Why?"
"Because you're always in them," you blurted out without thinking. Your eyes widened and you immediately shut your mouth, wincing at your mistake.
