Setsuka's POV
I slowly began to grow more nervous as I entered the buzzing cafeteria, searching around for Souta. In a way, I guess I should be happy for myself. Not because I'm having lunch with a boy, but because this lunch can take my mind off of the horrible abomination that is this school's lunch. Things have been going by so fast. With Ayako reminiscing about her past, (Yeah that's right, I know what she's talking about even if she doesn't tell me,) and then storming off randomly when I agree to have lunch with a boy? My mind is overflowing with ideas and statements, I feel like I'm in a cage.
I eventually spot Souta and down beside him. We smile at each other for a couple of seconds before beginning to eat our lunch. I could notice the way he was tensing up like I did when we saw him the class yesterday in second period. It leaves me thinking about how Stella is doing with Ayako. I have not doubt that things are going extraordinary!
Stella's POV
THINGS ARE NOT GOING EXTRAORDINARY! IN FACT, ITS THE EXACT OPPOSITE! Ok, let me calm down and explain what's happening in fourth wall breaker mode. I found Ayako crying like a baby in the corner of the bathroom shortly after my deal with Setsuka. I went beside her to cheer her up, to give her some words of encouragement you know? It just turns out that everything I say seems to make things..... worse.
Now to go back to present tense, not breaking the fourth wall, me. Currently, Ayako and I are on our way to lunch. I just got her calmed down, and I'm kinda afraid that seeing Setsuka and Souta at lunch together might get her worked up again.
"But, what if they just have so much fun together that Setsy will just forget about us as her friends?" Ayako complains as we approach the cafeteria.
"She won't, trust me." I respond to her in a -not- usual -for- me soothing voice.
"But what if I see her at lunch and I get upset again?" Ayako continues as I open the cafeteria doors. (Gee, wasn't that what I was worried about?)
"I can give you the Stella guarantee that you won't see her during lunch. I promise!" I exclaim as we grab our trays from the budding cafeteria.I yank two trays from the pile of trays that is in front of us and attempt to hand it to Ayako. She tenses and stares in a certain direction leaving me to wonder why. But then, just like that I saw Setsuka and Souta laughing with each other only mere feet in front of us.
Gosh Dangit.
Ayako's POV
Why did Setsy have to bump into that boy at lunch? Why did she have to agree to eat lunch with him? Why? Why? Why? Better yet, why did we have to see them here? At lunch? TOGETHER?
Stella and I sat at a nearby table, casually snooping in on their conversations.
"So, the Stella guarantee Hmm?" I tease.
"Oh hush!" She snaps and continues to listen in. I stare at my tray in disbelief. This is really happening isn't it? Setsy is gonna go all lovey-dovey for this boy and it'll be all hugs and kisses....... until he leaves her.
"Have you ever considered that you may be a bit...... jealous?" Stella asks intriguingly.
"I'm not jealous." I tell her and pick up my carton of milk. "I guess just a bit nervous."
Nervous is right. I don't want Setsy to go through the same pain that I went through years back. That same heartbreak and sorrow.
Stella continues to smile. "If anything, I say they look cute together."
"They do, don't they?" I respond and join Stella in staring.
I guess I'm just imagining all the things that COULD happen. But for now, let's just focus on this things that ARE happening. Right now.
Setsuka's POV
I continue to laugh at the joke that Souta had made as he smiles intently. We had been doing this almost all lunch period, to be honest, I kinda like it.
But if anything, I'm a bit nervous that both Stella and Ayako are watching. I'm never gonna hear the end of it from those two.
The bell rang for the lunch period to end as everyone got up in a synchronized fashion. He smiled and helped me up from my seat.
"Hey." I tell him. "Did you wanna eat lunch with me again tomorrow?"
He nods. "Of course." And with that, he left just as fast as I had seen him.
I was surprised, really. Right before he left thee was something on his face. A blush.
Could he be catching feelings too?
