Damon couldn't help but stare sympathetically at the girl, who was his best friend, in front of him. She had just lost her parents and Damon had no idea what to do or say. His face softened every time a whimper was heard coming from the girl. "I'm so sorry about your parents, I'm not great at saying sympathetic things to people but I'm sure they loved you and would be proud to know they have a daughter like you!" You embraced Damon in a hug. You just needed to feel safe and happy again but you knew it was going to be a long time before that happens.
