I rested on a couch, watching the clock tick as I waited for Lauren to finally get here. It had been three days since I last saw her when we were leaving the castle and I had received no contact from her. The Jauregui company building in Toronto was supposed to be our meeting place.

Lauren told me she would be here by Wednesday with Normani and it was that day but they hadn't arrived. I was starting to become worried because it was getting later and later with each minute that passed. My feet tapped against the ground and I looked up when I heard a knock, immediately going to the door.

I grinned as I threw open the tough metal door before my expression fell as I saw that Normani was there, with no Lauren. Her eyes were wide as I narrowed my eyes at her, crossing my arms.

"L-Lauren," she gasped, obviously out of breath as I glared.

"Where is she?" I questioned angrily as Normani fell to her knees, panting like a dog.

"T-they took her," she spoke hoarsely as I grabbed her arm, dragging her into the building. I could feel my face turning red with anger as I let go of her and crossed my arm. "The werewolves. Lauren threw me through the portal but s-she didn't make it." Normani was crying as I rolled my eyes, grabbing my coat and pulling it on.

"Stay here. I'm going to get her. I have to go back to the territories," I told her as I put my earmuffs on to protect my ears from the cold weather.

"No. I have to come. You can't leave me here," Normani begged, managing to get to her feet as I shook my head.

"You can't go back. They'll catch your scent. All you do is put Lauren in danger and if you come, something is bound to go wrong." I slipped on my boots, looking out into the snowy alleyway.

"No. I'm going," Normani stated and I looked back at her with disgust.

"Stay here, dog." She looked at me, her eyes angry and hurt as I rolled mine. "What are you gonna do? Cry again?"

"I don't know what I did to you. I don't even know you but I'm coming and I don't want you talking to me like that. I'm not a dog. I don't know why I've heard people call me that, but as you can see, I'm human. Now give me some clothes that are fit for the weather so we can leave."

I shook my head and went to a closet, pulling the doors open. I didn't have time to deal with this. I pulled out a heavy coat and some boots that were tossed next to Normani before I called Zayn.

"Hello?" The man answered the phone. "Camila?"

"Zayn, Lauren didn't make it to the safe house. Normani told me that the werewolves have her," I explained.

"At their headquarters? That place is ridiculously hard to get into."

"I know...but I have an idea. A few days ago, there was a report of a flying object leaving the fortress.."

"The angel. Do you think she escaped?"

"I do. It's the only reasonable answer. If we can find her, then we can get in the way she got out and find Lauren. Their senses are too acute for us to try and go in the main entrances with super speed. They'll catch a whiff of us."

"I understand. I'll send a fleet to come watch Normani and I'll organize some troops to help get Lauren back."

"Actually, she's coming with me Zayn. She won't fucking shut up about not going," I muttered quietly.

"I can hear you!" Normani exclaimed as I rolled my eyes and continued.

"Lauren still hasn't told her what she is. Maybe her scent can cover our own. Work to our advantage."
