Give Up

Her Last Words

Petra got in through the door and ran up to her room. The girl always did, and her parents thought it was normal. She flopped onto her bed and began crying.
"Why am I alive? Why don't I just die? Why am I so ugly? Why is my hair so orange?" The girl kept asking herself. She snuck downstairs and into the backyard. She went into the garage and grabbed some of her parents rope that they happened to have. She snuck back upstairs, and put the rope under her bed. "That can be for later. Right now I'll write the note and do little things that help the pain." She said. She scribbled down a letter for her parents and put that next to her rope. She found her blades and started. One, two, three. Each for every cruel word. Today would only be four, which was surprising for Petra. She cleaned up her arms and put bandages around them. She packed a duffel bag full of gym clothes and climbed downstairs. "Dad, I'm just going to the gym. I'll be back in two hours." Petra said. Eren gave her the okay and she grabbed her car keys and left. "Okay Petra. You'll do fine. Just... Hang on in there until your time." She told herself. She tied up her hair and headed to the gym to work out.

"Oh lord. It's Petra-My-Parents-Are-Fags" two women giggled as the short red head walked into the gym. She wipped her head around and walked towards the now frozen women. "What did you just say?" She said.
"Uh, n-nothing. And anyways, watch a gonna do?" The blonde said, held up by the collar by Petra. "I'll do this bitch." Petra said she slammed the woman on the floor and kicked her. "That's what I'm gonna do. Ever talk about my parents again I will kill you." Petra said. The other girl raced out the gym and soon the other girl got up and followed suit. The receptionist just stared as Petra walked over toward her.

"Hey dad, I'm home." Petra said as she walked through the door. When she walked into the lounge area her legs almost gave way. It was the girls from earlier.

"What do you think you're doing in my parents' house?" The enraged red head asked the two blonde women sat in front of her. "We came to apologise. What we said was out of order, and we're sorry we said that to you." The one blonde said. Levi looked like he wanted to kill them, and Eren was trying to calm him and the other blonde down. "Why has dad got a black eye and why has she got two?" Petra asked. Levi got up and walked over to the confused girl in the doorway. "I P-"
"No. I can't again. I am sick of standing up for you, and then just try and take matters into your own hands and act like I did nothing! I try, oh boy, to ignore it, but I punch and hit and do it all, but then you go and punch and kick and you don't even say thank you! NEITHER OF YOU!" Petra yelled. She ran upstairs as Levi tried to yell for her but she ignored every word. She heard Eren trying to calm him down and Levi then kicking the blondes out.

"I can't anymore. I'm doing it now." Petra whispered. She grabbed the supplies and put on her favourite clothes. She ran to the bathroom and locked the door. She got everything prepared and put the note  in its place. She tidied the bathroom and stood up on her little baby stool her parents still kept for her younger cousins who would come round often. She stood up on the stool and texted her friends saying,

Goodbye, I love you xxxx

And then her parents saying,

You two were so good to me. I love you, and I'm sorry I shouted. I love you so much xxxxxx

She stood up on the stool and looked at herself in the mirror and began crying, thinking back to every single cruel word said to her. She closed her eyes and put her head through the noose. She couldn't stop crying now, the tears just flowed down her face like a never ending stream of sadness. She kicked the stool out from under her feet and started breathing in her final breathes. Her last words were, "Why was this such a cruel world?" And she closed her eyes, and drifted off to death.

"We should go check on her. It's been half an hour and she hasn't come down yet Eren, i'm getting a little worried." Levi said to Eren. "Yeah. We'll just go up and knock. But don't shout at her. Remember, calm. If you get too mad, the whole thing will jus escalate and get worse. Okay?" Eren said to his husband. Levi agreed and they both left the lounge and climbed up the stars, not knowing what would be in store for them at the top.
