Okay... maybe I'm exaggerating a little. The boot landed on my toe and I yelped. All the firemen rushed to my aid and I pushed them off and accidentally activated the boot, and went flying through the air.

Talon's POV:

Nothing could be more embarrassing then this. Wait, never mind. Penny just got caught up in the tree beside me. That's pretty embarrassing I bet.

I smirked as I looked over to the branch next to me. She just groaned and glared at me.

"Don't even start with me, MADboy." She acted tough but I could tell she was secretly scared.

She glanced down to the ground and gulped. Scared of heights?

"Uhh... hello to you too. And by the way, thanks for noticing my ass. Your's isn't half-bad, either." I left a couple seconds in between to let the flirty move take its full effect. Within milliseconds Penny was blushing deeply, "Anyhoo, I guess we'll be stuck up here for a couple hours, since those firemen have no idea how to get us down. So why don't we just chit chat?" I suggested, and she thought about it for a moment.

"Fine. But I've had a weird enough day as it is so don't make it weirder."

"Why?" I pretended to be innocent and pouted, "what happened?"

"Uhh I woke up beside you. You called me beautiful in your sleep." I gulped involuntarily. "You tried to flirt with me. And Brain caught us. I don't even know why I'm being so close to you. I shouldn't be." She huffed and looked away. She pulled herself to an upright position, but was shaking. She was looking down at her second worst fear.

"Stop looking down. Look me in the eye." I mustered up the courage to cup her cheek and tilt her head to her right. (We were on the same tree, but the branches were on different sides of the tree, but not opposites)

She blushed.

"Seriously Pen. You don't have to be afraid of any of this. You're going through some tough shit, and since MAD is only open in summers I offered to care of you. Not that if it was the summer I wouldn't help you anyway. You can trust me. I don't bite. Unlike Brain. Have you tried sneaking into your house at night? It's impossible. " I grinned but she still didn't believe me.

She was still pushing me away. I don't understand why. She likes me, I like her, so why is she pushing me away?

She blushed and kissed my cheek.

"I'm locking all windows and pulling the shades down from now on. And I appreciate your offer. I'm just having a hard time believing you."

That was a blow to the heart. "Okay.. well when you're ready you know where I am."

We sat in silence for the next hour. I would steal glances at her and she would do the same. Occasionally our gaze met and we laughed awkwardly. But most of the time we were lost in deep thought.

"Okay kids! One at a time please? Who's first?" I glanced down to see a firefighter who had climbed up a really steep ladder.

Penny's POV:

"There's no way in hell am I going down that fragile thing." I muttered under my breath.
