Phoebe decided to go for a walk around the block. She saw a young fella, about 16 years old (dog years) rummaging in a trashcan. He had found leftovers from the bacon party. He had a feast.
Phoebe was slightly interested in what this dog was doing here. She walked over to him. He greeted her warmly and asked if she wanted the leftover garbage bacon. Some would say it was romantic, but this is what Phoebe said:
"EW!" Phoebe said. "First of all I don't eat from the trash, second of all I threw that out for a reason!"
"This is your trash can?" he said.
"YES!" Phoebe said angrily.
Phoebe calmed down and introduced herself. The other dog introduced himself too. Phoebe asked where he was from and he said Cincinnati. She asked if he was a fan of the Indians. He replied with a nod.
Phoebe felt a feeling she hadn't felt before---extreme excitement over a rugged mangy mutt that ate garbage. This, however, was misleading. He was actually a student at Cincinnati High, a player of varsity bone-ball, and a very popular pup. Phoebe felt even more strange excitement. She felt that maybe that he would be an interesting guy to go on an adventure with.
Phoebe asked if he wanted to come inside and he thanked her. He introduced himself as Cooper. Phoebe led him inside the house. He thought it was a nice house, but he hadn't even seen the purse palace yet! Phoebe had a realization. Maybe it wasn't just her and Grace (and apparently Tolf) that could stay in the purse palace, maybe Phoebe could make it so that Cooper could come inside too! It would be fun to have someone to play video games with...
"Why's a girl like you living in a small kondo in a sub-city of Indiana?" Cooper asked jokingly. "Shouldn't you be like... a Royal Ball to attend to? You know with your owner that's a princess?"
"I am a normal dog just like you Cooper!" Phoebe exclaimed. "Honest to goodness a NORMAL DOG!!!!"
Cooper blushed. Phoebe and Cooper entered the house. Grace warmly invited Phoebe back in but yelled at the "Mangy Mutt" to BACK OFF!!! I tried to tell her that he was just a friend, but you know how overprotective she gets about boy dogs!
"Grace PLEEEAAAASSSEE!!!!!! PLEEAASSEE let him come in the purse palace, PLEEAASSEE!!!!" Phoebe begged. "I promise that I will make it clear to Tolf that he is just a FRIEND!"
"Phoebe, NO!" Grace said sternly. "It was supposed to be for JUST ME AND YOU! It won't be a private palace if you invite everyone in the palace like it's the Disco Center in the '70s!"
"But... But..." Phoebe stuttered.
"BUT NOTHING!" Grace furiously yelled. She looked back at where Phoebe was sitting. WAS sitting! Phoebe and Cooper had snuck into the purse palace while they waited out Grace's fit of rage!
