"Phoebe, I'm home!" Cooper shouted as he took off his special occasion collar and replaced it with his comfortable collar (Collars are like outfits for dogs). Cooper slouched on the couch and turned the TV to his favorite channel. He sat back and relaxed as Phoebe entered the room.
"Welcome back!" Phoebe exclaimed. She trotted over and sat on the couch next to Cooper.
"Hi, Phoebe!" Cooper let his tongue loll. They both sat on the couch in silence.
"I'm glad we're friends." Phoebe, too, let her tongue loll. Cooper looked dumbfounded but extremely happy. They were officially friends! Not that I didn't know that, Cooper thought. But it feels SO good to hear it out loud!
Cooper and Phoebe adjusted their positions on the couch so they were sitting close, leaning on one another. They turned on Phoebe's favorite chick-flick: The Secret Life of the American Teenager! Cooper and Phoebe just laid there.
I really like him, Phoebe thought. I probably shouldn't have talked about having Golden Retriever, Black Lab, Great Dane puppies, though!
I really like her, Cooper thought. Maybe she said something about having Golden Retriever, Black Lab, Great Dane puppies because she likes me!
