I woke up, it was around 7 a.m. I have school tomorrow. First day of Highschool...
"Ailyn get over here and do your dishes." A female voice shouted.I grunted and rolled out of bed. "Ugh... I'll be right there!" I shouted back and slowly stood up. I then walked downstairs to the kitchen.
"And please.. wash them right." My mom laughed.
"Okay Okay!" I said. She always said that every time I washed dishes.
"Excited for tomorrow?" She asked.
"Uh yeah... sure." I washed the dishes.
"You didn't sound sure." She walked over to me.
I sighed. "Do I have to go?" I finished the dishes and placed them on the drying rack.
"Yes you have to go, Where's the girl that was excited about highschool?" She smiled.
"She is gone and that was when I was 10 only because I couldn't wait to get away from Ally." I laughed.
"Aw well that's too bad.. I guess we won't be getting the sweaters then-"
"NO!- I mean... Okay! Just don't.. not buy the sweaters, please? You know why I need them..." I walked back up to my room.
"All right but you better be up bright and early tomorrow or I wi-"
"I know and I will. I promise." I laughed walking back to my room. Jeez I'm glad I cut her off when I did or she would go on and on about how lazy I am- which isn't a lie but, I would've been there for about 2 hours.
My phone went off. It was a message. I walk over to my phone on my desk and look at it, it was a text from Mark. Every time I got a message from Mark I blushed, I couldn't help it.
"Heya." He said.
I went to respond and before I could hit send there was a knock at my door.
"Hey, How was your first day? <3" I hit send.
"Ailyn! There is someone at the door asking for you." Mom said I rushed down the stairs. Yes part of me wished it was Mark but he lived in England and I was stuck here in the U.S, but it wasn't Mark. Sadly...
"Should I come another time or-" I peeked through the door from a distance and had a glimpse of who it was. Who he was. Joey.
No no no no no! I can't- umm I'm sick yeah. Just pretend I'm sick and he will go away. I walked up to the door and began coughing. "H-Hey..." I said in a low voice.
"Uhm are you ok?" He asked.
"Y-Yeah! Totally just a little sick-"
"But honey you were fine a second-" I stopped my Mom by fake sneezing on her.
"Mom you didn't look hard enough." My mom laughed and walked away.
"Oh, well I hope you feel better. Sucks you got sick the day before your birthday." He said. He stood awkwardly.
"Yeah...um." I wasn't good with people- Not unless I knew them well.
"I'll come another time?- The real reason I came over was to ask If you wanted to.. walk with me tomorrow? I'm going to walk to school with some of my friends and I was hoping you would join us." He smiled nervously.
"Um... I uh well my Mom was going to give me a ride and-"
"I told you we couldn't get a ride thanks to your father." Mom walked over. Great Mom just great...
"Yeah sure that'd be cool." I said. I couldn't tell if he could hear the sarcasm in my voice, sadly he didn't.
"Awesome! See you tomorrow!" Joey smiled, I closed the door as he ran off excitedly.
I sighed. "Urghh whyyyy, Mom why!" I complained for a reason- No reasons. One, I was taken and I knew Joey liked me I was told he did and he makes it pretty damn obvious. Two- Mom knows I'm taken. Three- I don't like socializing- don't get me wrong people are awesome. I just am used to those I have been around and every time I make- try to make a new friend it never works out, due to my awkwardness. And Four, I just didn't want to socialize. Mark and the others were enough- I mean it as in I love them and if I had like 20 more friends it would make me busy and not have time to talk to them and that's all I look forward to through out the day, Is conversations with them.
"Because, you need to stop being shy! Ailyn it's High School! Have fun- well not too much fun or I will have to-"
"MOM!" Why did she do this to me.
"Ok sorry! Look I just want you to have more friends- ones that are in person so you're not in that room all day." She sat on the couch and patted the seat next to her so I would sit.
"I understand you are worried but, I just don't trust people and you know that." I said. I really don't the way I see High School is drama, backstabbing people you call 'friends' but aren't and just a bad place.
"Please at least make one friend?" She asked. Ugh why me? Ally could easily make friends- without her attitude but me? I just freak out with a hello.
"I'll try. I won't promise you anything." I said. I kept to my word. If I promised my Mom I'd have to work on my social skills then my homework- in fact that would turn into my homework.
"That's all I ask." She smiled and walked to the kitchen to cook something was my guess.
I ran back upstairs to my room and peeked in Ally's room. She was asleep so I closed her door and went in my room. I pulled out my phone and saw another text from Mark.
"It was alright I had my first Spanish class."
I giggled and began to type. "Awesome! Well if you ever need help just ask, it'd be fun helping you." I hit send and waited for a response.
"Yeah <3" I smiled.
"I'll text you tomorrow I have to wake up extra early for orientation and It will only be for about 2 hours at the most. If you need anything text me I will respond as soon as possible." I sent it and waited again.
"Ok. I will <3" I loved his texts.
"Te amo <3" I giggled when I sent that.
"I love you too Phe." He responded and I blushed. I fell back onto my bed and look at the window. Please be drama free tomorrow...
