I took my picture and after that we all got a tour of the school. When we reached the cafeteria there was people by the far back who played their drums loudly. Band . I walked over the book club and looked at it. I couldn't see myself doing that every month I might forget. I looked at the soccer team sign up sheet, the club next to them were shouting at me to join volleyball. It was strange but, I don't think I would be good at volleyball.. especially what happened last year when I tried.. I signed up for soccer and I didn't take interest in anything else. I hadn't seen an art club at all, but maybe tomorrow. We took another tour and went to the 'big room' Where we had assemblies. Some guy gave us a huge speech on how we shouldn't give up and how hard it is for some people. He talked about those who are homeless or are going to be due to financial issues or some teens that go through family issues like domestic violence. Me. I was a little scared talking about that topic but, It's something I needed to hear. He then made us all stand up. I was sitting in between two boys- of which I didn't know who they were. "I want you to all hold hands and repeat after me." The man said. I was confused I did as he told us, minus the holding hands part. "We are strong." He said. I immediately backed out. That's not me. I'm not strong at all. I sat back down everyone had their eyes closed so, they hadn't noticed me sitting down. I got a text. "Heya <3"  Its Mark, I smiled.

"Hey what you up to? <3" I looked around at everyone still doing as the man told them and laughed a little.

"Nothing much, you?" He replied.

"This man is making a speech at an assembly and asked us all to hold hands but, I'm just watching them all it's funny." I laughed again and I heard someone shush me.

"Sorry!" I giggled.

"Oh XD" Mark said.

Soon as they finished everyone sat down and the guy next to me smiles at me. I smile back awkwardly. What was this speech supposed teach us? That question remained in my head through out the rest of the day.

"I'll text you soon need to go they finished the assembly." I typed.

"Ok Shorty." I smiled again I loved that nickname he gave me.

I walked home and told my Mom about my day. She was being all mother like- by that I mean the 'You've grown up so fast' Speech. I texted Mark a little more before going to bed. I was nervous for tomorrow. Tomorrow would be a full day, Mark told me that it was ok and that it wouldn't be so bad. But, I wasn't good with people so what if someone came up to me? Not that anyone would. Who would talk to a weirdo like me? I laughed at the thought of that and fell asleep.

...

I woke up at around 6 in the morning I wanted to be early, I wanted this day to go well- not perfect- but great. I took a quick shower and dressed up. Everyone was still asleep, I tossed the bag of mine on the couch and sat down next to it. Maybe he's on...  I pressed on Mark's name and began to type. "Morning Babe." I smiled and sent it. Waiting for a response I got up and made myself some breakfast, It was 6:30 a.m now. I knew the walk from here to the school, I finished my food and swung my bag over my shoulder and rushed out the door. I walked from the small parking lot of my house and onto the sidewalk up ahead. I didn't have money so, I passed the Mini Deli. I crossed the road and continued walking, I then got a text. "Hey!" It was my friend Samantha. I texted her back, "Hey, First day?"

"Yeah! I'm really nervous..." She responded.

"It's ok. I'm sure it won't be as bad as you thought just be confident." I smiled.

"Yeah maybe you're right.. I'm on the bus." She replied and sent a picture.

"Lucky I have to walk." I frowned. How much longer? I thought.

"Oof. Well good luck! I gtg the bus arrived. I'm scared."  I sighed.

"Thanks and Don't be you'll do just fine. Also I wish you luck as well." She left me on seen. I was on the road and notice a car coming up, I stopped and let them pass. Jeez that was close.

I put my phone in the pocket of the side of my bag and I continued walking. Only a bit further... I saw part of the football field. "Hey P." I felt a hand on my shoulder, I jumped and turned around. It was Connor.

I rolled my eyes, "And here I thought you moved with your cousin." I walked faster.

"-And not see my favorite person? I think not." He smirked.

"Barf." I rolled my eyes yet again. I walked up the hill to the school, I was feeling tired.

"C'mon P.. You know you love me." He slid his hand into mine.

I pulled away and rubbed my hand on my sweater to wipe his 'germs' off me. "Bye Connor." I walked inside and pulled out my schedule. Room 211.

I walked to that classroom and sat down. I was early. I sighed and took out my phone. The late bell rang. The Teacher still wasn't in. Weird I thought. Someone came in. Was it the Teacher? "Hello guys, You here for what homeroom?" He asked.

I nodded. "That's strange can I see your schedule." He asked. I handed it to him, I was really confused.

"Oh no." He said. "What are you all uh Freshman?" The guy asked.

"Yeah." Said the girl sitting at the other desk.

"I'll call guidance because the teacher in this room doesn't teach here anymore." He said.

Great. When I thought the day would go great my schedule has been messed up. "What's your name?" He looked at me.

"Ailyn." I said.

"Last name Martinez?" He asked, and I nodded.

"Room 225 sweetie." The man said and I got up and walked to the room which was left all down that way. Am I going the right way? I asked myself. I looked at the rooms 217, 218. Yup. I kept walking. 219- I turned right. 221, 222, 223, 224, 225. Got it. I opened the door and walked inside. About 15 or more pairs of eyes stare at me. Oh god..

I walked all the way to the back of the room and sat down. I don't want to be noticed even though I promised myself over the summer I'd make friends. It's harder than it looks. "Psst." I heard a voice. I looked around- maybe it's for someone else. "Psst." It said again. It was close.

"Hey over here!" I felt something hit the top of my head. -A paper ball. I look around again. The seat ahead of me to the left met eyes with me. "Finally I got your attention." He said and smiled.
Oh boy...
