Chapter 2- Hoggy Hoggy Hogwarts
Ember's Pov:
I walked onto the train and I saw alot of children, all different ages and different looks to them, skinny to fuller, tan to pale, tall to short. It was hard pushing though them to find my best friend. All the seats were taken and full to the max, leaving me wondering where in bloody merlin is Ronald. Then to my surprise I found him with the handsome boy. I swore and opened the door, Ron smiled and motioned me in.
"It's alright if you sit Ember." Ron said, stroking Scabbers lightly, I nodded and lifted my trunk up by his and the boy's. Ron's other sit was taken by Scabbers and I quickly shuffled over by the boy. He was staring at his like we were just wonders. I waved finally to my parents and Ron did the same.
"I'm Ron Weasley." Ron said to the boy and they shook hands and the boy said something that caused me to stutter on my own breath. "I'm Harry, Harry Potter." We stared at him with huge eyes and he squirmed under all the attention, I recovered and said "Blimey..." as Ron and I saw the scar from under his messy bangs.
"Nice to meet you Harry, I'm Ember Lupin." I say and we shake hands, blushing red for both us as we pull away from the shake. Ron looks confused at our flushed faces, typical for Ronald Weasley. The station was replaced by long hillsides with grazing cows and horses. I sighed and we chatted randomly about the questions Harry asked about Hogwarts. Ron mentioned that the twins- Fred and George told him that there would be a test and it caused the two to shutter but me to try and regain confidence.
"Anything from the trolley dears?" a old woman said smiling as she popped her head in the section we were seated in. Ron kindly declined as he held up a overflowing sandwitch that made us gag at the sight. Harry then came to rescue and bought two of everything. He was doing out the goodness of his heart. As Ron pigged in, without permission, I held back being polite.
"Your aloud to have some." Harry said blushing slightly and I shot him a bright smile as I reached for the same chocolate frog he was about to take but I recovered our hand-touch and took a Mars bar, munching on the sweetness, I was not excatly the most easy eater- I liked my food. We munched our way though the rather large pile quickly as we laughed and talked to each other, joking and merely having good fun.
Harry was a nice boy, with a good heart and a strong will. He seemed to blush at our eye glances and such, which as much as I tried not too I did anyway. He was funny and they all laughed at our different jokes, then we explained some wizard sports-like my heart and soul Quidditch and the different foods and different creatures.
He seemed beyond interested by all of this and Ron just listened with him as I explained every detail from food to creatures, all passtimes, all of Hogwarts, all of it. It was rather enjoyable seeing them being sucked into my teacher ways. Harry asked questions and Ron answered them- or otherwise would turn to me.
Towards the end of the long ride, as Ron was just about to do a spell that Fred told him, I tried to stop him but he was prescient. A girl popped her head as he was about to swish his wand and say the dud of the spell.
"Have you seen a toad, a boy named Neville's lost one- Holy Cricket! Your Harry Potter! Wait are you doing magic? Well let's see it." she said crossing her arms and putting Ron in his place. I liked this girl very much.
"Sunshine daises, butter mellow, turn his stupid fat rat yellow!" Ron said in a shaken voice and with a small snap of light from the wand, it was gone. Scabbers stayed the matted old gray and the girl fought a smile.
"Are you sure that's a real spell? Well it's not very good is it? All the spells I've tried worked perfectly." and she muttered a spell and Harry's glasses fixed themselves, the tape holding them together was gone.
"Im Hermione Granger, you are?" Hermione said in a stiff voice as she turned to Ron. "Ron Weasley." Ron said with a mouthful of food, it caused me too gag so loudly Hermione turned to me after she said "Pleasure...." and shook his hand lightly. She smiled lightly at me and I smiled back. "You are?" she said kinder to me and I don't blame her my friend is not dumb all the time but he needs to learn manners.
"Ember Lupin, but everyone of my friends call me Emb, you and Harry are aloud to call me that." I grin and she nods smiling rather so large, her face may split in two. "You'd better change, see you soon!" she said leaving and Ron muttered "Bloody Hell." as she left. I scowled and grabbed my robes from my trunk and went to the lou.
I changed quickly and fixed my rather frizzy-ish hair and smiled. I left the lou looking better then when I walked in and that was better then embarresing myself infront of Harry or even Ron for that matter.
I found where the boys were, I knocked once on the curtain-drawn area and Ron opened the curtains, Harry and Ron were dressed in their robes, I was thankful I had enough brains to knock on the door before walking inside.
Suddenly light flooded what used to be the dark night, we docked in the Hogwarts station. The kids were already spilling out and seperating at Hagrid. Hagrid was a family friend that I met when I was around ten, Dad is his friend and so is my Mum. Hagrid is yelling something and motion to the lake surronding the castle, Im just assuming.
Quickly we stuck together though the flow of never-ending kids. We reached Hagrid and myself and Harry yelled "Hagrid!" and launched ourselves into the mans arms. "Ember! 'Arry!" he boomed swinging us slightly as we removed ourselves from Hagrid's bear hug. "You already know each other?" Harry asked as he whispered it, I playfully shoved him and did it back. "Yeah Family friend." I giggled as we had our little shove match and I forgot about Ron, who we quickly introduced- blushing.
As we were directed to the boats, Hagrid looked giddy and smug at Harry and I all at once and it caused me to scowl deeply but it was quickly faded when Harry helped me into the boat with Hermione and Ron. I blushed as red and as dark as the Hogwarts Express.
The trip across the lake was long and it gave me shivers that ran down my spine as the lake seemed to be so black and it had no bottom to it. I let out a sigh and I looked up to see Hogwarts.
Nerves were bouncing around my stomach but I tried to keep as brave as I could, the quicker the hat was done, the faster I could get off the stool and out of attention. I twiddled my thumbs, head down, dark hair added a sheild but as soon as a warm palm incrusted mine, I looked up to see Harry who was looking straight forward at the castle, I tightend the grip and leaned on him.
Hogwarts will be us four together. Hopefully.
