I was awoken by a loud banging sound coming from outside. I got up from the floor inside my room and felt an abrupt pain from my head and eyes. I cried and cried last night that I fell asleep on the floor. I stood up and went to my living room, again I'm hearing a banging sound

I slowly opened my door and peeked outside. The sound came from my right so I opened my door wider and followed the sound. I saw a guy in a hoodie, I could not see his face though. There he is banging a door and hitting it with a piece of wood
"Why wouldn't you open?! Fcking door! Fcking.." I hear him yell to the door while pointing to it

Of course he's drunk

I am still contemplating about maybe helping him or whatever. Wait--- maybe he's just a random adult stranger who is jobless and is trying to mess with his wife inside that unit

"Aishh! Fuck you! fcking---" He wailed outloud and kicked the door to which resulted him to fall on to the floor with face first
"Oh god!" I then rushed to the guy and tried to lift him up but then I realized his facing the floor. I rolled his body so that he would face upwards and I could make him sit up.

Succesfully I made him face upwards and to my surprise, he was not a random old stranger. But the guy I did not expect him to be "Jeongguk?!" I said in shock while removing his hoodie. He had blood coming out of his nose and earned a scratch on his face. Without hesitation, I shoved my hands inside his pockets to look for his keys. What matters is that I take him inside his unit.

I found his keys and hurriedly opened the door wide and prepared myself to lift him up. I sat him up while hanging his arm around my shoulder and lifted him up with all my might. The smell of alchohol has started to flood in my nostrils,

Why am I even doing this?

"Arrrgh!" I groaned as I brought him inside his unit. I dropped him onto his couch and fell to my knees while gasping for air
"God your so heavy!" I lamented while massaging my arm.

"Ughhh...arghh.." I heard him groan and shift from his position to which I saw his nose that is still bleeding. Shit I forgot about his bleeding nose.

I went to my unit as fast as possible and looked for my aid kit. I rushed to him and started curing his bleeding nose and scratches on his face. I saw some purple marks forming on the side of his lips and yeah he needs ice pack
"You really fell too hard huh?" I mumbled. I got the ice pack from my kit and went to his kitchen. I looked for some ice but I found none

Wait

I placed the ice pack to the side and opened it. I opened his fridge and got a spoon from his shelf and began scraping of ice from the freezer,

We need to be practical duh

Finally I had filled the pack with ice and closed his fridge then placed the spoon in the sink. I closed the lid of the ice pack and went to him. Slowly I placed it at the side of his mouth where bruises had formed. He then jolted in pain and had his eyed open in surprise. He then looked up to me with a frown, his eyes squinted
"Jae-Jaehee?" He quered
"Surprise...surprise" I told him still holding the ice pack for him
"How--how did you get here?" He asked while slowly sitting up but yelped in pain
"Uhm...I live here too, that makes us neighbors..." I answered him
"Oh...so you witnessed me as a drunken mess huh?" He asked while grabbing the ice pack from my grip
"Yeah, even carried you all the way here from your doorstep" I told him while puffing some air. I then stood up and got my kit, and prepared myself to leave
"I need to go, looks like you can handle yourself now..." I told him and yawned
"Oh okay, thank you by the way...uhm how about the ice pack?"
"You can return it anytime besides, we live next to each other anyway" I stood up and went to his door
"Again thank you"
"Anytime, see you at the university" I bidded to him as I pulled his keys from the doorknob and threw it to his direction to which he catched from his free hand. He bidded back and I closed the door as I proceed to my unit.

"So...jaehee...you done with your essay?" Solhee asked while clinging unto my arm. I looked up from the book I am reading and directed my vision to her
"You do know it's an individual work right?" I retorted to her. Basing on her tone and question, I know basically what she's up to
"Uhuh...but..." She trailed off
"But?"
"I'm too tired ugh!" She whined

I knew it

I just shaked my head with her whining. I continued reading but still she's clinging to my arm and begging me to do her work for her. I was about to answer back to her but then interrupted by an unexpected person to come

"Hey Jaehee" he called

Hakyeon?

I slowly turned my direction to him with a hint of ignorance. What does he want now?
"Uh, yes?" I asked him
"Ms. Jung told me that she wants to see you this afternoon in the Language 1 Room" he said with a smile

Please Hakyeon get rid of that smile to me...

"Uh-uhm okay...I will" told him while clutching the hem of my shirt and holding my book with a firm grip. Again, I feel warm rising up to my face and ears.

"It's nice to talk to you again, Jaehee" he broke the silence. It took me long to reply with his statement
"Yeah..." I just can't seem to find a word to tell him

"Hakyeon!" A voice called him from behind, whom is Saeyool his girlfriend together with his friends. He then turned back to me and smiled
"See you again some time" He bidded as he left. I froze in my position and can't seem to calm my insides. Why can't I get over the fact that he only sees me as a friend?

"What a show now Jaehee" suddenly Solhee butted in waking me up from drowning in my thoughts. The bell had rang and she then drag me off to our class. "Get over him will you..." she told me while dragging me out of the Hallway.

We had entered our room and sat in the middle row of the seats. Solhee was rummaging inside her bag while I am still finishing the book I am reading
"Pssst" I heard coming from somewhere. I looked to Solhee but still she's busy with her bag. I looked everywhere and searched for that person but I saw no one I know. Suddenly a presence sat beside me and nudged me with his arm, it was the Jeongguk guy.
"Looks we'll get to see each oher in this class huh?"
"Of course" I smiled
