You woke up the next morning still sitting by the door. As your eyes fluttered open, you felt Crona stirring in your arms. You held him closer; he was soft and warm. He looked up at you, his eyes, still foggy from sleep, met yours and you both smiled. He sat up and tried the door again; it opened, and you stood up.

"Th-thank you for helping me, last night." He blushed quietly, halfway out the door. You began mindlessly playing with a lock of your (h/c) hair. Remembering last night made your heart beat a bit faster.

"Of course, but, Crona," your voice dropped an octave, "I'm sorry for making you stay past curfew. I shouldn't have let you help me. If I didn't, you would have gotten to your room on time and you wouldn't have been so upset." You peeked up at him through your bangs. He looked shocked.

"_____, is that what you think happened?" He asked softly. You nodded. "But that's not it. It's not your fault. We just lost track of the time, and you didn't know that they lock the doors. That's all," he comforted you, pulling you into a hug. As you hugged him, Ragnarok popped out if his back.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing, girl?! You'll make us late to class!" He screeched. For the first time since you had met him, he actually made a good point. You quickly went to your room to change and get ready for your second day at DWMA.

>~~~~~~~~~~~<

You and Crona hurried to class, only to find out that it was ten minutes before school started. Still, you went to the classroom and sat in your seats. There were already some students milling about, including Black Star and Tsubaki. The former decided it would be hilarious to poke fun of the new weapon: you. He jumped over the rows of desks in the stadium-like room to get to your level; Tsubaki watched warily, ready to step in if he got too wild.

"So _____, you're living down in the dungeon with Crona, right?" He leaned his elbow on your desk.

"Yes, that's right," you said politely. You didn't want to give him anything to use against you, but it feels like he somehow has something already.

"I've been thinking," he started, "they put Crona down there because he was different, like the messed up childhood and being on the bad side for a while-no offense, Crona, we're cool-because that's where they put the 'different' ones. Freaks-again, Crona, no offense." You didn't like where this was going. You were already upset by what he said about Crona, and you could feel there was something worse coming.

"So, _____, what makes you 'different'? You don't need a meister, and you're super talented; where the hell did that come from? If this is your first time at an academy like this... How did you learn to do that? Tell me, what's your story? C'mon, all the good characters have tragic back stories, what's yo-" he didn't finish; you had stood up as fast as lightning and you were holding him off the ground by his shirt, your arm, now a mace was pointed at his head. There was a spike centimeters from his eye.

"You don't need to know that," you said, frighteningly calm, "all you need to know is that I am very fast and very dangerous. I can be your closest ally or your worst enemy. My story isn't important, and it should stay that way for as long as possible," you turned your arm back and dropped Black Star down in his seat next to you. You sat down like nothing had happened and began doodling in your notebook; the whole class but the professor had come in by now, and they were all staring at you. Nobody dared make a sound.

"Way to go, gruesome, you just scared the shit out of the 'legendary' Black Star," Ragnarok appeared and broke the silence. You were suddenly aware of all the eyes on you. Was it happening again? You're such an idiot, you thought to yourself, you almost blew your cover.
You even stopped thinking about that; what if someone could read minds?! Okay that was a stupid thought but still... You turned to Black Star, who was now much farther away from you but still at his desk and pouting.

"I'm sorry, Black Star," you apologized, "I shouldn't have lost my temper. I don't want to hurt anyone, this is just really important to me and I want to forget most of what I was before I came here. I'm sorry if I scared you." He stared at you, dumbfounded, for a moment. Still, no one spoke. After a bit, Black Star relaxed some.

"No sweat, _____!" He grinned, "I wasn't even scared. Besides, I was kidding; but I won't do it again, I swear!" Conversation picked up after that, only to stop when the bell rang and professor Stein rolled in. Today's lesson was about dissecting... An exotic bird? You couldn't figure out how this was relevant to defeating the Kishin, but you couldn't just not listen; there might be a quiz!

You avoided Black Star for the rest of the day, but you weren't able to dodge the students who stopped you in the hallway to say something about how you were suddenly really cool.

You put one kid in his place and then you're the talk of the school, you thought grudgingly the rest of the day.

>Yay! I finally got around to writing this. My writer's block has gone, so hopefully I can work on my other stories too. As always, comment what you think and I'll have the next chapter up as soon as I can! :)
