"I told you, I'm going and that's final."

"No James, I forbid you from leaving me," whined the petite brunette that sat cross legged on Jamie's bed. "Why do you have to go if Liam got the job offer anyway?"

Jamie sighed. "Erica, you know how long I've been looking for a job as a writer and now I might get the opportunity to do exactly that in France."

I'm getting better at this whole lying thing.

Erica groaned, "Sure you may get your dream job, but is it worth dealing with French people on a daily basis." She now cocked an eyebrow at Jamie.

Jamie laughed. "I'll miss you too."

"No, you're not because you aren't leaving."

Erica and Jamie had been friends since grade three. Erica was the short, dark haired beauty that every guy had a crush on. Jamie remembered how Charlie Green asked her out to prom only to discover that he was only trying to worm his way closer to Erica. Some friendships wouldn't last through such a large chasm of differences and status, but for them, it worked. It also didn't hurt that both of them shared a love for boxing. . . well, it did hurt Charlie Green when he got hit twice in the nose for grabbing Erica's butt at prom.

"If you stay I'll take you to watch the Joshua vs. Klitschko match," Erica tried her hand at her bribe.

"How did you afford that?" Jamie asked her minimum wage earning friend.

"You see I have a tv and access to Sky Sports."

Jamie tossed one of her shirts at Erica and they both laughed.

"Okay so if you insist on following through with this ridiculous plan, when can I see you again?"

Jamie froze for a moment, she couldn't answer her friend. She didn't know when she would be able to see her best friend again. Hell, she didn't even know where she was going to end up. Jamie started to tear.

"Jamie, are you crying?" Erica got up off the bed and embraced Jamie. "Honestly, I didn't know you were capable of it."

Jamie laughed through her tear. "Well, I've certainly been doing a lot of it lately."
