"A date?" I asked him, while I was leaning against my locker, starring up at Alex.
"Yeah, it would be fun. We can go where ever you want. It would be this Friday." He smiled barring his teeth, leaning over me with one hand.
I blinked a few times before responding, "Are you sure about this?"
Alex gave me a shocked look, then smiled. He ruffled my hair, chuckling. "Text me tonight, and let me know where you want to go."
Alex walked out of the instrument locker room. I stood in the locker room, and walked into Mr. Petek's office.
"Mr. Petek!" I called to him in distress. "I need to talk to you about my clarinet."
Before I could say anything about my clarinet, he handed me a Bundy plastic clarinet. "Here, you can use this until you get your clarinet repaired."

"Oi, you two are finally going on a date?" Nate asked, glarring down at Alex in curiosity.
"Uh, yeah; why are you asking?" Alex asked.
"Well, I want to get to know Sarah too." Nate smiled, giving hints to Alex of what he want to ask.
"Are you saying, you want to tag along with me and Sarah?" Alex asked. "If that's the case I would have to ask her permission first."
"Cool." Nate finished reaching into his back pocket. "Don't worry, I'll pay for everything in return."
Alex looked up at Nate in confusion. "No, no, I'll take care of it. I'm not going to ask you to pay. As a matter of fact, I'll pay for you too."
"No, I insist." Nate continued to offer.
"Nate, if you come I can't let you pay. I'm the host of it, the host takes care of everything." Alex smiled trying to convince Nate.
"Nope, I'm paying." Nate finished.
Alex sighed, then laughed. "Well, I guess there's no stopping you then."
"You got that right." Nate smiled. "So, you talk to Sarah, and let me know."
"You go it." Alex smiled, feeling a knot in his stomach. "We'll go Friday night then."
Alex walked back into the instrument locker room. I walked up to his locker, and softly hit his head against it, over and over and over again. 'I'm an idiot.' He repeated in his head every time his head hit the locker.
I walked into the locker room, finding him hit his head against the locker, and couldn't help but stare at him in confusion.
"Is something wrong?" I asked walking over towards him.
"Yeah, well no." He said looking at me.
"What's wrong?" I asked as he lifted his head to look down at me.
"It's not going to be a date anymore." He said opening his locker.
I sighed in relief, though I feel kinda upset about it. "How come?"
"Nate wants to join us." He said. "Would that be okay with you?"
I opened my mouth to say something, but quickly shut it.
"Is there something you want to say?" Alex asked grabbing my hand softly.
"Yes, er no. I mean, he can come if he wants." I said out of impulse; the feeling of him grabbing my hand made me jump.
Alex chuckled. "You're still jumpy; a jumpy little freshman."
My cheeks flushed pink. "I am not jumpy." I pouted.
