VI: Magic, Little Sis'

/ dedicated to azure because you have a very fab name and a username, thank you for everyone who added this story to their reading list, it has been a great thrill. /

            Dear Farleigh,

I am scared, really I am. I don't know what to do when Mama got mad at you for breaking her special teacup set that dad bought. I wanted to save you from the torture of being spanked multiple times but I want to tell you that you should be careful. I know how you would look at me sometimes where I wouldn't get to trouble and you would lock yourself because of jealousy. I know that certain glim of your eyes, they darken with roasted beans that look like saucers about to burst in madness.

I grew up Farleigh and maybe it's time to grow up too. Jealousy hurts a lot. I was jealous of mom comparing me to my cousin, Rodrick. He was perfect in some point you would understand. A straight-A student, a face that could haunt a girl's dream, and an attitude you will never forget. If only you know how mad I could get when I would have my birthday party, he'd be the first person Mama would invite.

They were always unfair, sis. "Your darling, Rodrick is such a sweetheart. He even offered for me to come to their recital oh if only Gregory was like that!"

"You shouldn't speak nonsense about our son, he's just a little boy."

"Practically Rodrick is older by a year, it's time for him to do the same thing."

You know what? I became like Rodrick but not entirely like him. I was joy while he was only an honor. I was pleasant while he was only a thought. I would like to tell you, Farleigh that the magic inside jealousy is that this time we could see the real us, we will always have two 'us'  and it's up to you which you'll pick.

But I know you'll ask who changed me, do you want to know who made me feel that magic? You my little sister because time moves too fast and so I need to keep up with it.

                        Sincerely Yours,

                        Gregory Jones
