-Flashback-
I lie on the floor, curled into a ball. Joel stands above me, holding a belt covered in my blood.
'You're worthless.' He repeats with every strike of the belt. Tears fall to the floor as he gives a constant barrage of strikes. Suddenly, Shōta walks into the room. He'd gone to university for a few years now, unaware of what Joel had been doing to me. Shōta runs up to me, tears leaking out of his eyes. I'm a mess surrounded in a pool of blood. He switches his gaze to Joel and his eyes harden. 'How could you?' Is all I hear before I black out.
-Flashback End-
Joel died a few years later.
