"It's such a fucked situation Petal in the pavement Just as long as she keeps getting it right Heartbreak won't bite Here in paradise"
Petal - Ariana Grande
For a few minutes Celine stayed in place.
Hurling insults at herself, pulling at the ends of her hair until she was in pain. Hoping that it would be the antidote the rising poison of morbid giddiness that infected her spirit.
Every terrible decision I make reinforces what I believe about myself, that I am a dreadful person.
It wouldn't change in a day. She was the same, all the way down to her soul. But if she continued to weep in the drawing room, someone would come and find her like this.
That wouldn't do. She sniffled, adjusting her waves around her shoulders and standing tall.
When she eventually braved leaving the room, she stopped in a sage scented powder room along the empty hallway.
Hastily grabbed for a brass knob, and turned on the cold water. She ran her hands underneath, until she could feel them again, and looked at her reflection.
Took in her ruddy cheeks, the tears that turned her irises to liquid, her puffy lips. Her eyes were brighter than they'd been in months.
Do I like to suffer because it's all I've ever known?
All eyes were on her as she made it back to the dining room, a convincing smile painted on her face.
Avoiding her new contracted sugar daddy at all costs.
She smoothed her skirt, and sat down in her chair.
Jin looked at her suspiciously, aggressively biting off the end of an asparagus stalk. Celine swallowed loudly, looking at her plate of untouched food.
"I'm sorry guys, I gave myself on a tour of the house."
Hoseok told her not to worry about it.
Jeongguk told her to eat, or else he'd finish her plate for her. She gave him a quick peck on the cheek before diving into her salad.
Celine was left to her own thoughts for a few minutes, until a foot brushed against hers underneath the table.
She stared daggers into the culprit. Did he want to get caught?
