With a pained groan, Devon's eyes fluttered open. "Shenzie?" he grumbled; but no answer came. Confused, he sat up quickly making his head spin. "What the-?" Clutching his throbbing head, he glanced around the room finding he was no longer on the Dragon's Revenge.
He was laying on a small cot in the center of a stone cell. The cell seemed to be a concrete dome with a single grate at the top which allowed only a single ray of morning into the prison. And upon further observation, the only thing besides the cot he was laying on, a bucket lay collecting a small dripping of water against the far wall.
Closing his eyes, he tried to remember how he got here. In response, his head throbbed making him grunt, but he remembered. Casta did this. Casta Lawrence sided with the queen and probably had been playing with his feelings from the day she stepped her seemingly unwilling feet on the Dragon's Revenge; and probably longer than that. She is her mother's daughter after all.
She will pay for her mutiny.
