It was a cold winter night when a female trainer named Samantha heard a crying sound on her way back to Viridian city. It almost sounded like a newborn. She followed the faint crying sound while the wind kept blowing hard and the temperature began to drop. She stumbled across a small baby, covered in leaves with pure white hair, deep within Viridian Forest. It was almost freezing and she decided to take the infant back with her. She covered the baby with her jacket and rushed to the Viridian city pokemon center. They spent the night there. Samantha asked Nurse Joy to help her search for the baby's parents. They spent the next day asking everyone in the city but they got nothing. Even the police officers tried to help but in the end, the baby's parents remained unknown. It was like the baby just came out of nowhere right in the middle of the forest. Samantha spent the night again in the pokemon center while looking after the baby.
"Dear trainer..."
A deep dark voice suddenly spoked to her out of nowhere.
"This child is my son... Jericho..."
The voice kept on talking to her while she was about to freak out.
"Don't be afraid... I am the Guardian of the forest... That child you're looking after is my son... Please take care of him... As the forest's guardian, I have a responsibility to protect the forest by myself. I can't fulfill my task while raising him... Samantha, I ask of you to take care of him for me. Raise him like your own child. Only then can he find his real destiny. I can sense it. He is bound to make a great change in this world. It might be for the better or for the worse. It is your job to guide him to right path... Farewell"
The voice faded away. Samantha was scared for a moment but the thought finally sinked in. She looked at the innocent baby and smiled. It was then that she decided to be the baby's guardian. At that time, she knew that her journey to become the champion is done. Maybe its not her destiny to become the champion... Maybe it was.. the baby's destiny.. Jericho's destiny.
The next moning, Samantha finally made up her mind. She decided to return back to her hometown. Petalburg City, Hoenn.
There, she started her new life as a mother. She raised Jericho together with her husband Norman, the Petalburg Gym Leader, like their own child. Of course Norman was really happy as well to finally have a son. At last, their dream of having a child has finally come true.
Finally... Jericho's destiny is about to take place...
