Brother's Best Friend ~Colby Brock~

Chapter 1: Moving Day

~Fallon~

"Sam, you're actually getting on my last nerve. I knew you would get lost." I rolled my eyes as I finished going through baggage claim. 

I pushed through the crowd of people in the airport to get some much needed air. The past week had been the worst time of my entire life. Packing up all of my things and flying to Los Angeles from Kansas was the last thing I expected, but it was happening. 

"Fallon!" I heard Sam's familiar voice ringing in my ears and I suddenly forgot the irritation I had felt towards him moments before.

I looked towards the direction of his voice and spotted him making his way through a swarm of people. "Sam!"

We ran towards each other and I crashed into him, wrapping my arms tightly around his neck. "I missed you so much, Sammy." 

"I missed you too, Fallon."

"So this is where you fucking live?" I questioned, gaping at the mansion in front of me.

Sam grinned. "Yeah, I mean, there are seven of us living here now, counting you. Plus two dogs."

"I know! I'm excited to meet Circa and Buddy. I don't really care about meeting anybody else." I answered with almost complete honesty. 

"Is it going to be weird seeing Colby after... you know." He glanced at me and I shrugged. 

"It's almost been two years, Sam. Trust me when I say that we're both over it." I laughed lightly, remembering the day when Sam and Colby were leaving.

I tried to fight the tears from falling as I hugged Sam goodbye. "I'm gonna miss you, Sammy." 

"I'll miss you too, but we're obviously going to see each other soon. We're family." He pushed my shoulder playfully and I laughed as he went to say goodbye to our parents.

I made my way over to Colby, who was finishing up his goodbyes with his family. "So, this is actually happening."

He looked down at me and back up at Sam. "Yup. I guess it is. Definitely going to be a lot different without you being around to annoy the shit out of Sam."

I punched his arm playfully. "I think you've got that wrong. You and Sam are always the ones annoying me." 

"You loved it." He chuckled lightly, and I watched as the dimples in his cheeks deepened. 

I shook my head and sighed. "It's just going to be so weird with neither of you being around anymore."

"I know." His voice was soft. He was standing directly in front of me now, looking at me intently. "It's going to suck not being able to see you every day."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion at both his proximity and his tone. "Wha-"

I was interrupted by his hands cupping my face and before I could think, his lips were on mine. I swear there were fireworks, but seconds later he pulled away.

"I'm sorry." He whispered.

As if right on cue, their flight was called and we were all rushed to say our goodbyes once again before the two of them lined up to board the flight. 

I couldn't even think straight as as they disappeared down the hall. What the fuck?

"Hello, earth to Fallon." I shook myself out of my thoughts as Sam waved his hand in front of my face.

"Sorry, this past week has just been insane." I opened the backseat of his car and pulled out two of my bags. "Can you be a good big brother and get the bags from the trunk?"

"Sure, Fal." 

Once inside, I dropped my bags and looked around the foyer. It was absolutely beautiful. "I can't believe I actually live here now." 

"I know." Sam replied, shutting the front door. 

He led me up the stairs to my room. "And this is where Queen Fallon will spend the rest of her days." He bowed playfully.

"Thanks, peasant. You may go now, as I need to settle in." I put on my best 'high and mighty' voice as I waved him out. 

I unzipped my bags and sat on the edge of the bed, really just wanting to take a nap before actually unpacking.

As I was lying down to take that much needed nap, three small knocks on my door caught my attention. I looked up and in my doorway was the one and only, Colby Brock.

I really felt like writing and this is what I came up with. I know it's really short, but first chapters are always the most difficult to write in my opinion. Hope you guys enjoyed x
