Chapter 4 - Truth

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

(Adam's POV)

Uuurrrggghhh.

"Hey Nancy his eyes are moving! Quick call Mrs. and Mr. Raynold, tell them that Adam's may be waking up"

- Where am I? -

"Ok, I'll call the doctor too, I'll be back before you know it!"

Those vague voice, they sound familiar to me...

Wait! Aunt Nellie and Aunt Nancy's voices?

Come on...

Just open your eyes Adam ... For you to see where you are.

I slowly opened my eyes and tried adjusting my eyes towards the light of the room.

I was in the hospital wearing a patient's cloth and an oxygen thank to support me.

The door in the room quickly opened and I saw my parents rushing going towards me.

"Son!" they said in union and they both hugged me tight while they're trembling.

The feeling of being hugged somehow felt similar to me, but I don't remember where or when it is, it felt as if it was from a distant dream.

"We were so worried that you might never wake up from your comma, just like the girl who were with you in the accident. I ---"

My mother was interrupted by my aunt Nelly trying to let her keep quiet.

"Let the kid rest first then let's tell him what happened, ok?"

"Ok, see you later son just rest for a while"

"Ok mom"

Then I've waited for them to leave the room and pondered of whom the girl was, but soon I fell asleep.

-----------------------------------------------

I wake up with a strong scent of cinnamon lingering around me, it smelled more like my favorite food - cinnamon buns.

"Good morning sweetie, I bought your favorite food, they're still hot downstairs so I got them for you" my mom said sweetly.

I smiled at her and gave thanks.

I ate the cinnamon buns appreciating every bite I took and while eating my food.

I somehow manage to convince my parents to tell what happened and the things they know about the girl who was with me in the accident.

After eating the cinnamon bun, me and my parents talked for a bit and catch up on the time I've missed.

And I've remembered on what happened that night on the accident.

It turned out that I was out with my bestfriends Alex and Tyler and had stupid idea to have a drink out.

I won as the last man standing -- or should I say the last person to be close to sane. Since we didn't have contacts at anyone near our drinking place, I had to drive us to our houses dropping my friends one by one.

On the way home, the liquor finally hit me at the wrong place and at the wrong time.

"So you were driving at full speed in the highway and then - and - th - then"

my mother broke down in tears, both hands covering her face while my father's comforting her and then she continued her sentence.

"You hit a girl, you were hurt so badly but it wasn't even close to what happened to the girl --"

"Wait! what do you mean?!"

*silence*

"Mom what do you mean?!"

"You were both in coma with severe injuries, you had a 50/50 chance of waking up and now you're alive while the girl right now has only 2 days to live" my father said in a low sad voice.

Bam!

Guilt.

Rushing.

Memories.

Flowing.

of the accident.

and.

of.

Kattie...

And my vission went black.
