Everyone was hard at work when suddenly the window burst open and cold air rushed into the room. No one seemed to notice this except Sofia. She looked up from her work and saw the window dangling open. She suddenly felt very cold and put her hand up to signal miss Ella while shivering if she could close the window.
Miss Ella noticed Sofia's hand and got up from her seat and walked towards Sofia. While miss Ella was walking,Sofia could have sworn that she saw a shadow that definitely was not miss Ella's. But the odd thing was that the was this shadow was white!
"That's weird"thought Sofia "shadows are meant to be black"
At that very moment the bell for recess rang and all the students ran outside to have their lunch. Sophia was hoping to make a friend and tell them about the shadow. It wasn't long before she found her perfect match with a girl named Lily, a young Chinese girl who had been at the school since class 1
As soon as the 2 girls sat down,Sofia began to tell Lily about the shadow but she couldn't continue since Lily's face turned white with fear.
Sofia was confused at Lily's sudden expression. Lily took a deep breath and began to tell Sofia a tale......
"It happened at this very school"said Lily,mysteriously "A few years ago there was a teacher named Mrs. Rushel who used to work here. She was very strict with the students so they were always naughty to her. So one day the students were behaving very badly that she got high blood pressure and she died"
Sofia felt sorry for Mrs Rushel but Lily assured her that no one liked her so no one really missed her. Lily then mentioned that most children believe that she became a ghost. Hearing this made Sophia freak out at the thought of it
Soon the bell rang and everyone ran back to their classes. Sophia ran to her class but once the lesson began,Sophia couldn't concentrate on her studies. Not just because she was thinking about what Lily told her, it was also because news was spreading fast around the school that a girl in her class named Zoey went missing during lunch.
