My pack gathered around Miles and I their curious whispers and glances forming a quiet hum, as soon as Miles raised his hand above his head calling for their attention, they fell silent.
" I know you all are curious as to what this is about so show your respect and welcome your Alpha, Ariana Ziga!"
As I stared out at their worried faces I knew this was a good idea.
"As I am sure most of you know the rogues are attacking packs closer and closer to us. While this is alarming I believe I have an idea that may bring some of you some comfort. I am opening warrior training to everyone. If you want to train and learn how to protect yourself we will train you just like we train our warriors. You will not be required to do anything with these skills they are just for your own protection in case of an emergency. Everyone is welcome even children, I want everyone to have a fighting chance in case of a surprise attack. I will not let the rogues destroy our pack! Long live the Lunar Eclipse pack!"
They all cheered and I let out a sigh of relief. Speeches were necessary but they always left me feeling drained. I feel so powerful when I'm standing at the podium and all eyes are on me; it makes me feel all the great things about being a leader. I glance towards Miles and he sends me a lopsided grin easing some of the anxiety but as my nerves began to settle a howl rang from the forest behind us making my blood run cold. My pack began to hurry to get into lockdown positions making me glad we had been doing so many drills lately. I rushed to get to the tower we had built to be a lookout perch, as I scanned the edge of the tree line hoping that it wasn't rogues I spotted movement towards the edge of the forest. Holding my breath I prayed to the Earth mother and the moon goddess anyone I could think, hoping upon hoping no one would get hurt. We were a powerful pack but so were many of the packs that had already been taken down by the rogues. My nerves were a jumble but I couldn't let my pack see my fear, I took a few deep breaths and turned to face my warriors awaiting my command. Just as I was about to explain my plan for taking down the rogues I was contacted through mind link and it was Miles.
"Its not rogues but we still have a problem."
I raced down the tower stairs, my warriors right behind me. Miles was at the entrance to our house with a man that as very badly injured.
"What should we do with him Alpha?"
I peered down at the unconscious man, there was only one available way to see if he was a werewolf.
" Go get the wolfsbane I keep in my office."
Miles went to get it and while he was gone I assessed the man's injuries. His shoulder was torn definitely dislocated, his hands were scratched like he had fallen into sticker bushes, his foot was at an odd angle and he was caked in mud. Whoever this man was he had been through an ordeal but I couldn't let a human into our pack house and our medics knew nothing of human medicine, I had to be sure. Miles came back with the wolfsbane and some gloves. I carefully pressed the flower onto his bare skin and it began to hiss. I pulled it away quickly and ordered my guards to get a medic. The man was still unconscious as he was carted away. I sighed hoping he would wake up and tell me why he was here and what hurt him so badly. I ordered my warriors to search the forest for signs of rogues and to report back to me their findings. I headed to the kitchen realizing I hadn't eaten yet and my stomach began to growl. The deliciously enticing smell of Cinnamon buns and French toast with bacon swirled through the air making my stomach growl louder.
"Bonjour Alpha! Good Morning!"
I smiled at our pack chef and took the plate she had prepared for me. She always knew what I wanted to eat and she always had a energetic smile. She was an older lady but she was full of life and laughter with the laugh lines etched in her face to prove it. She handed me my plate stacked full of scrambled eggs, bacon and buttered sourdough toast. I ate a lot of food due to how many calories we burn when we shift. I sat down and picked my book up from where I had left it yesterday, my pack knew not to mess up my stuff. As I ate my breakfast and read my book I tried to relax, so many things were weighing on me. So many alpha duties and I still needed to figure out the weird feeling I had gotten around the unconscious man, it was this tugging feeling in the bottom of my stomach. As I sat there enjoying my meal I felt another kind of tugging in my stomach, the horny kind. The male wolves in the room immediately snapped their heads up to look at me. I cursed my self for not dealing with it sooner. I hopped of the stool I was perched on and hurried up the stairs hoping none of the now horny males were stupid enough to follow me. As I got to my room I had a weird feeling like the one I had gotten when I was near the man but stronger. As I opened the door, I saw him sitting on the bay window, naked and waiting for me.
