D-day(before you ask, i just feel like this is getting boring. enjoy this last!)
8.45 p.m. The clock kept ticking. Jihoon oppa went out while I was at home doing nothing. I knew it was today, but I tried to ignore it. I mean, he would remember, right? I cuddled with my self under my sheets, still thinking about the same thing over and over again.
Finally, I made up my mind to get out of bed. I threw on a sweater and some comfy joggers. Before I left, I stared at the necklace that I bought for Jihoon oppa and headed out the door. Walking out of my room, my brother noticed me heading somewhere.
"Hana-yah, eodiga?" he asked, his head popping out of his bedroom door.
I answered, "Out for a bit. I'm bored." He gave me a confused face. "Eih, don't worry, oppa, I'll be back before 10. I promise. You can wait for me."
My brother smiled, "Arasso, be careful, and bring your phone with you."
I nodded and walked down the stairs. Not forgetting to lock the door, I walked towards a lake nearby my area. Exhaling, I took a stroll around the place, rewinding memories.
"I'm gonna catch you!" eight-year-old Jihoon oppa shouted while running around trying to catch me.
I stuck my tongue out, "Aniyo! Catch me if you can!" I ran harder.
All of a sudden, I tripped. "OW!" I started sobbing, looking at the blood on my knee.
Jihoon oppa ran to me, "Hana-yah! Gwaenchanha? Aish, I shouldn't have ran around trying to catch you."
"It hurts..."
"Gwaenchanha, c'mon, I'll help you get to eomma."
"Arasso, oppa. Gomawo," I said with an eye-smile as he smiled back.
I sighed, remembering the many things we did together in this place. Hide-and-seeks, playing tag, and basically just being kids.
"Hana! Look!"
I widened my eyes, "Woahh, neomu yeppeuda, oppa. What's this for?"
He placed the flower crown on my head, "This is for when I get married to you later."
The little me blushed away, "Let's be together, always!"
We pinky promised to ourselves that we were to marry each other, and be together forever. I guess not anymore.
I walked across the bridge where I used to feed fishes with Jihoon oppa and towards a hill. reminiscing all the past that i used to enjoy before he turned into an idol. I sighed basically at the thought.
I guess my feelings back then wasn't just a childhood love. But I feel it right now.
I finally crossed the bridge and went up the hill. I took a breath of the fresh evening air, and glanced at my watch. 9.12 p.m. Looking up at the stars, I smiled at the beauty itself.
"I guess tonight many stars decided to show up," I chuckled to myself.
I was taking a step back when I lost my balance. Not knowing what to do, I closed my eyes, waiting for the fall that was about to happen...
...but it didn't.
I opened my eyes to a guy in a black hoodie who caught me from falling. I stood back up and bowed. When I looked up, the guy removed his hoodie from over his head and...
... Jihoon oppa.
"Eo—oppa, what are you doing here?" I stuttered a little.
He chuckled, "What are you doing here?"
"Uh—well—I, uh, needed some fresh air. Haha, just hangin' late at night."
He gave me a hug. I could feel my cheeks starting to redden up.
"I remembered," he let go of the hug.
I knitted my brows. "Remember what?"
He laughed, "Ten years ago, babo. I promised you to meet me here in ten years." He pulled something out of his pocket, "I got this for you."
Turns out, what he pulled out was a necklace with an upside-down triangle and the initial "j" on it. My eyes immediately widened, "T—that—"
"You bought the same one didn't you?" I turned my eyes from the necklace to him.
"How did you—"
"I was the one who canceled the order on purpose. Today, I went back to get the other one," he placed the necklace slowly around my neck. "This is our promise necklace. I know I'm gonna be away a lot, so this necklace will remind you of me."
I smiled and slipped out his necklace. With an extremely happy smile, I placed the necklace slowly around Jihoon oppa's neck.
"I love you, Kim Hana."
"Me too."
And that was how I ended up with him.
***
fast forward to ten years~
"APPA! HWAREON HIT ME AGAIN!" shouted a little girl in a peachy dress.
"Aniyo, appa, I didn't do it on purpose! Hwarang just wanted to play catch, so I catches her!" the little boy looked down in guilt.
"Haha, Hwarang-ah, you wanted to play, so Hwareon was playing with you. There's nothing to cry about," a gentle voice went down to stop the little girl from crying.
"Hwarang, why are you crying again?" I walked towards the little boy and gave him a hug while the little girl was in Jihoon oppa's arms.
My brother walked to us, "Ohh, the struggles of having four-year-old twins." Jihoon oppa and I chuckled. "Yah, Jihoon-ah, now that we're not idols anymore, our family comes first. Arasso?"
"Ne, hyung! You take care of you daughters too! They're still kids," Jihoon oppa said as he pointed to a girl walking this way.
"Appa! Yeorin keeps bothering me!"
"Mwoya?? Appa, Taerin unnie is exaggerating! Jorin started it—"
"Aniya! Taerin noona keeps blaming me—"
"Aigoo, will you three stop arguing?" my brother said at his three kids, a six, seven, and nine-year-old.
I laughed and poked my brother, teasing him, saying, "Having three kids is hard isn't it?"
With just that, we all were laughing. My childhood boyfriend turned out to be my destiny. Who knew that we could be together, as a family?
